I was talking with the other warriors while we were guarding the border. The main reason why I was socializing with them so much was because I was worried as hell about Kizara and all I wanted to do was go home to her.
Unfortunately, no one knew about her yet and I had a job to do. Not going will raise suspicion.
My phone buzzed in my pocket and I immediately pulled it out. Riker's name flashed on it.
"Beta Spade, I caught the rogue that tried to escape," Riker told me. My eyes widened. That's impossible, right? Kizara is at home locked in my house watching Spongebob.
I pray so.
"What do you mean you have her?" I questioned in disbelief. "We have her, killing her would be easy because we injured her pretty badly," he answered. Knowing Riker there was a smirk plastered on his face and I wanted nothing more than to knock it off.
I was so close to crushing this phone.
"Make sure she stays alive! I'm coming," I shout into the phone and end the call, wanting to bolt to my mate. "Mike, take over I have an issue to deal with," I mumbled quickly before running off.
I let Tray, my wolf, take control so we could reach the cellar faster.
At the entrance of the cellar, I grabbed a suit of clothes again, not wanting to see my mate in another male's clothes and changed into some sweatpants since I was naked.
"Where is she?" I ask Riker. Her blood was all over him, I could smell it. It was becoming hard not to let Tray kill him. All he wanted to do is rip him in pieces. "Third cell," he flatly answered and I started walking down the stairs.
"You can go now Riker, thank you so much," I gritted through my teeth. "I have to wait on the king, Beta," he objected.
I rolled my eyes. "I'll wait for him. Leave now," I ordered again using my Beta voice. I was much higher than him so my control over him was vivid.
He gave me a short nod before leaving. I walk into the cellar and past many cells to get to my mate's. "Spade," she tried to smile in the corner of the wall. There was a slash on her forehead and bloodstains all over her face.
"Oh no," I gasped, just as I was about to touch the voice stopped me.
"Spade!" The king shouts at me. I froze, definitely not expecting Kyston down here. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" He shouted, his eyes glowing yellow. "I-" I didn't know what exactly to say and Kyston took that opportunity to throw me against the wall, holding me by my throat.
I didn't want to admit it but he was stronger and I couldn't fight him. I couldn't even feel the floor.
"Stop," I say, already having trouble talking or breathe as the seconds past. He can't kill my mate. She was all I cared about at the moment. I can't live without her now that I've finally got her.
Kyston's eyes widened and he dropped me in a flash only to wrap his hand around his own throat. His face was becoming red by the seconds. He looked like he was being suffocated but he wasn't.
His eyes were glued on my mate and my eyes snapped to her. My eyes widened as I noticed her.
Her eyes were glowing purple, she was using one hand to help herself stand and the other slowly closing in her hands as if she was choking Kyston without touching him. Like she was doing it with her mind and an invisible force.
What? How is this possible?
"Witch," Kyston says through the choking.
That is impossible.
Werewolves and vampires burnt all the witches before they turned into enemies. That was decades before I was even born.
"Kyston!" Avira's voice shouted through the large room. Our eyes snapped to her running down towards us. Kizara stops choking the king at the sound of the Queen's voice.
You'regoing to have to read chapters 22 and 23 of Mated to Royalty if you want to know what happens when Avira comes. If not you won't understand the next chapter.
