"Flowers...that's ah...what kind of flowers do you like?"

Despite not understanding what he meant, Song Jia tried her best to communicate with him.

The more he talked, the less he was likely to kill her. In the meantime, if he could only loosen his hold on her wrists, she could grab a weapon from her storage space ring.

"..."

The masked man did not answer her. His whole body was taut, his red eyes fixed on her face.

As the silence stretched on and on and was about to snap, his hoarse voice was heard above her head.

"If I see blood, I become crazy with the urge to kill. Do you understand?"

Song Jia looked back at him. Did she understand? How could she not understand? Of course she understood. Since she was full of wounds from head to toe and there was a blood-soaked patch of ground not far from her, even if the masked man wanted to, he could not stop the urge to kill.

He was warning her, even if she struggled, only death was waiting for her at the end.

"I..." Song Jia's voice cracked, so she tried again. "I don't want to die."

If she had an accident and also killed her second host, Nova will definitely strip off a layer of skin from her body. There was also a probability of her being fired from her job as a professional transmigrator.

There should not be a professional transmigrator that failed her missions as much as her, right?

The masked man did not seem to pay attention to her words. He continued staring at her with red eyes, as if he could not see the rest of the world.

Only her.

Song Jia parted her lips. She was about to speak again when a deep kiss fell on her lips, swallowing the rest of her words.

"Mm!"

Song Jia laid there on the ground, trapped by the masked man's hard body, her eyes wide open. She was kissed so hard by him that it didn't feel like a kiss, but an attack.

She struggled with all of her strength, but she was like an ant trying to shake a tree, all of her efforts seemed to be in vain. The grip on her wrists tightened even more. Song Jia thought, if she managed to survive the night, there were surely going to be bruises on her skin.

He parted her lips and teeth, his tongue invading her mouth and tasting her. The masked man's kiss was fierce and violent, as if he wanted to tear her to shreds and swallow her whole.

Song Jia's pounding heart was about to burst out of her chest. She tried to evade her head and dodge his kiss, but his whole body seemed to be made of steel, unable to be budged even the slightest bit.

Due to the lack of oxygen, her body became soft and limpid, an electric current travelling down her spine. The masked man felt that her resistance had disappeared and he groaned, his voice low and alluring, filled with magnetism.

The redness in his eyes seemed to slowly fade, and the hands that were holding her wrists loosened. His kiss also became gentle, but Song Jia could no longer tell the difference. Her tongue was numb, and black spots started to appear in her field of vision.

With her last remaining strength, Song Jia bit his tongue.

The masked man drew back in shock, and said in disbelief, "You bit me!"

The redness in his eyes came back, and his expression became even more bloodthirsty. He bent his face close to hers and his lips went all the way down, whispering hoarsely with a hint of excitement, "But the smell of blood turns me on even more."

"..."

Three black lines appeared on her forehead. Song Jia really wanted to curse. She had actually dug her own grave. However, he said he wanted to kill her. Yet, except for trapping her underneath his body and kissing her senseless, he had done nothing else.

He sucked and kissed her neck, leaving behind a trail of hickeys. He then went back to kissing her lips, and the smell of blood between them grew thicker. He didn't seem to feel any pain from her bite. She was unable to resist, and he imprisoned her mouth again, a long and lingering kiss that left her breathless.

He explored her mouth, sucking on her tongue, and nibbling her lips. There was not much skill to his kiss, only a gnawing hunger that seemed to transfer the violence of killing between their mouths. Even though Song Jia felt that this masked man had no desire to kill her, the danger coming off him in waves did not lessen.

In the split second where she wasn't paying attention, one of his arms tightly held her body so that she could straddle him while the other held the back of her head, which deepened the kiss even more.

Song Jia was already feeling dizzy, and even when she felt the rigid length that was pressing urgently against her stomach, she still did not react. She closed her eyes, and in the next second, she lost consciousness and fell into a warm embrace.

When the masked man sensed that the person inside his arms was not moving, he finally let go of her mouth. As their lips parted, a thread of saliva connected them.

He stared at the slender girl whose head was leaning against his shoulder, her long eyelashes trembling. Her golden hair was messy, and the white dress she wore was stained with dirt.

Seeing this, the redness in his eyes completely disappeared, and he returned back to his rational self. One hand gently touched the scratch on her cheek.

He was a bit stunned, looking down at her swollen lips. Her wrists were ringed in dark bruises. His face became filled with panic, his eyes confused and lost. There were many mixed emotions in his expression, with joy and horror being the most dominant.

He...actually...to the person that he wanted to hide his repulsive self the most...

His body trembled, unable to believe what had happened. He knew that when he was overcome with bloodlust, he could no longer care about anything, only the desire to kill and see blood. No matter who it was, as long as they were blocking his path, as long as it was a living and breathing body, he would not hesitate to kill them.

This was why as long as he was in this crazed state, no one else would dare approach him, knowing that only death and torture would await them. It only showed subtle effects back when he was a child, but as he gradually grew up, this affliction quickly grew until he could no longer control himself.

Incredible strength, inhuman speed, enhanced senses, and a thirst to see blood...all of these abilities was what made him an excellent predator. He even had a nickname, a nickname that people who knew him liked to call behind his back when they thought he wasn't listening.

Hunter.

And now, the person he wanted to hide from the most had seen his true face.

"No..."

His dark eyes filled with terror, he clutched Song Jia closer to his chest as a sense of helplessness almost engulfed him.

"You promised...Jia, you promised!"

She promised that she would always love him.

She promised that she would never leave him, and would always stay by his side.

Xiang Feng pulled her body even closer, as if he wanted to bury her into his flesh. His heart felt as if it was being squeezed by fear, but he could no longer turn back.

Since he saw him, she had to accept him.

He had endured for eight years, and now that she was back at his side, he would not be able bear it if she once again left his sight.

"No matter what changed in your life for the past eight years, you're mine!"

He didn't care if she was married, had children, or created a new family. Seeing her face that didn't age, he didn't even care if she was a thousand-year old demon. These past eight years, he tried his best not to go and search for her, and tried not to think about the men that would be enchanted by her.

Now that she was back, she was his.

He would not give her the opportunity to leave him ever again.
