“Bart?”
“Yes?”
“…Why?”
“Because.”
“…Because…why…?”
“I dunno, why?”
Harley blinks at me, then to the duck sitting on the seat next to me. “Its…a duck…”
“Yes, Harley, very good observation.”
“Why…” She closes her eyes and takes a breath while I just stare at her. She reopens them, staring at the feathered friend. “Why is there a duck sitting near you?”
“Because he’s sitting there.”
“Why is he sitting there?”
“Because he was tired.”
She rubs her eyes. “He was just…there when you sat down?”
I look over at the duck and nod. “Pretty much.”
“Why is there a duck in an airport?”
“He wanted to fly!” I laugh. “Get it? Fly? Ducks fly? Airport? Eh, eh?”
She shoots me a dirty look. “Not funny.”
What?
There was a duck here when I sat down.
Seriously. Harley went to the bathroom and I sat down.
And BOOM!
There he is.
I guess he waddled in here and decided this was a good place to sit.
