My Favorite TeacherMy favorite teacher of all time is my fourth year high school class adviser and Math teacher, Mr. Alimes. The students at the school were scared of him because he's strict. I think they hailed him as a terror teacher. However, I thought otherwise. I looked up to him. He's my fave and the best teacher. I love the way he teaches Math. He's way of teaching is effective. I could understand easily. The students who were under his class got so nervous after his discussion because he would then put chalks on our desks to answer some Math problems. He doesn't really wait for the students to raise their hands because there were the same students who would try to answer. He likes to give other students to answer and try to be participative.
I still remember we read the daily gospel and the reflection and he would ask us what we learned from it. Sharing each other's insights. I remember he made a mini-library in our classroom. It was just a small space but I loved it. I really like him because of that. He used some of his books to put there. Having a mini-library was a brilliant idea. He wanted the students to read more on their free time instead of chitchatting. I admire him so much!
I had no idea that he was proud of me after I graduated high school. My neighbors told me that he talked about me in one of his classes stating I was still good at Math in college. He was happy telling it to them. He was still my Math teacher in first year college. I remember there were two Math teachers and I (and my close classmates) chose his class. I persuaded them to take his class. They didn't at first because they knew he is strict. And guess what? The other teachers got lots of students. My class consisted of ten students.
The thing that I admire him the most is his humility. He's so humble! He didn't boast about his achievements in class unlike the other teachers. I found it one day that he passed his doctoral and I looked for him because I wanted to congratulate him. I was so proud of him with that.
