Cara's P.O.V.

The past couple of days have not been too bad. Hannah and I spent time helping Amanda move into her apartment. We also spent time with her dad. It was frightening at first because I didn't know what to expect. Hannah didn't really talk about her parents since they didn't accept her.

I was expecting Mr. Bailey to be mean and extremely negative. Physically he was scary. He was a foot if not more taller than me. Other than that he was very stoic and normal. I was glad that he didn't fight me too much on the bill when we had dinner together.

The time spent helping Amanda made me realize that we got along pretty well. We didn't talk much but there was a silent understanding between us especially when we were watching football together.

I kind of missed him when he left because when he was around, Amanda was a completely different person. She was quiet and normal. Hannah was different as well. I got to see another side of her. Hannah the daughter. I could see how close she was to her dad with the way they talked about baseball and things back from Windsor. There was a different type of happiness that radiated from Hannah.

Mr. Bailey invited us to to his house for Thanksgiving. A part of me wanted to say yes because Hannah can spend time with her dad but then the other part knew it would not be a good idea. An unaccepting mother and a whole set of family members that felt the same way, it was not the type of environment someone would like to be in. Hannah had the same mindset as well but I knew she secretly wanted to be home again.

"Good morning, Birthday girl," Hannah called out from my doorway. In her hand was a cup and in the other, she held a large object against her. The object was wrapped in a towel. It was strange looking.

"Ah, don't remind me." I placed my hands on my ears.

I could see Hannah chuckling as she walked toward me.

"I made you some tea." Hannah handed the cup to me.

I slowly took my hands off my ears as I took a hold of the cup. I breathed in the sent of oolong tea and it instantly brought a smile to my lips. "Thank you."

Hannah grinned back at me. She took a seat at the foot of my bed as she waited for me to take a sip of the tea.

"Delicious, but still very hot!" I fanned my mouth as I placed the cup on the nightstand.

"I'm sorry. I should have warned you." She handed me the object that she had wrapped in a towel.

"It's okay. It was worth it," I replied
I held object in my hand. It was light and soft. I looked at her in confusion before I slowly unwrapped it. Inside was a large Stitch plushie. "It's so cute!" I held it against my face. He was warm and smelled like a summer breeze fabric softener. Hannah must have washed him in the laundry.

"I knew how much you liked Lilo and Stitch," Hannah stated. "And even if you don't like admitting it, I know how much you like stuffed animals."

"I love it. Thank you." I hugged the Stitch plushie in my arms and snuggled it.

"I can't believe I'm jealous of a doll," Hannah said.

My eyes widened as I place the plushie off to the side. I leaned over and wrapped my arms around my girlfriend.  "I love you more for it."

"That's better," Hannah said with a smirk.

I placed a kiss on her cheek. I pulled her against me as we both fell back down on my bed.

"You are the best gift I can ever ask for," I stated.

"I can say the same about you," Hannah said softly before she kissed me.

"Can we just stay like this for the day?" I said afterward. Hannah was on top of me and I had my arms wrapped around her waist. I feel like the more time I spend with Hannah, the more things I have realized about myself. Who knew that I could be so affectionate. Maybe that's what I secretly craved growing up.
