A/N - This chapter is based on the Scott Bradley's Modern Jukebox version of the song 'Timber.' I hope you all enjoy it.

"You are so boring," you murmured, slumping back in your seat with a drawn out sigh. It's not like you were lying. You had only met Joffrey a week ago, but all he had wanted to do was stay in Winterfell for the duration of his stay. He spent most of his time lingering around watching people and you couldn't help but worry that you would lose your mind if you had endure him as your husband for the rest of your life.

When you glanced over at him he was frowning, his brows pulled together as he stared at you in disbelief. "No I'm not," he uttered, and you couldn't help but let out a chuckle.

"You are in the North for the first time in your entire life and you've spent all of your time doing exactly what you would have at home. Boring." He looked as though he was holding back. He wanted to lose his temper with you; to yell and scream and tell you just how wrong you were. But the way you were smiling at him caused him to reconsider.

"Then what would you have me do instead?"

You pursed your lips as you considered his question, shifting forwards in your seat to lean your elbows against the table. "We should go into the town, see the people," you paused for a moment, your eyes lighting up as you made up your mind. "There's this tavern that plays live music and everyone dances. It's so much fun," you exclaimed, your teeth pulling at your bottom lip as you waited for him to make a decision.

"Is it safe?"

A snort of laughter escaped you as you watched him. "Is anything?"

He raised an eyebrow at you, rolling his eyes. "My mother wouldn't allow it," he started, watching as your smile faded and you released another sigh. "But she doesn't have to know," he added, and suddenly your smile was back full force.

Joffrey had decided quite quickly, when he had met you, that he enjoyed your smile. There was a mischief behind it that he had never seen in any other Lady before, and you just seemed so genuine in the way you expressed yourself. He had made it his goal to have you smile at him at often as he could manage it, and now, as you did it again, any doubt he had at his plans for the evening slipped away.

"Really?" you uttered, eyes lighting up as you grinned at him. "I never took you for a rebel," you continued with a light chuckle.

"Then you don't know me very well," he murmured, returning his eyes to the book in front of him.

Another chuckle escaped you, and then your hand was resting over the words on the page, drawing his attention back up to you. "So, we'll go tonight?" He nodded and you quickly pulled your hand away, smiling so sweetly that he almost forgot how to breathe in your presence. "Perfect. Remember to bring money."

With that you were headed out of the door, leaving him alone in the library to read. But he couldn't concentrate on the words on the page in front of him, watching the letters swim around the paper. Seven Hells, he was going to have his hands full with you for a wife.

*Time Skip*

Later that night, you knocked on Joffrey's bedchamber door with a wide grown on your lips. There was something in you that was absolutely certain that tonight would be entertaining; Joffrey wasn't the type of man to mingle with his subjects and you were curious to see how he managed when they were all drunk and unaware of quite who he was.

When the door was pulled open, you released a soft chuckle, your eyes roaming over him. He was wearing some of the most overtly rich clothing you had ever seen, and you quickly placed a hand on his chest to push him back inside, following him.
