December 10th, 1976. 4:50pm. Eric Forman's basement.

It was a chilly Friday afternoon in Point Place, and the Burkharts decided to crash in the basement after cheer practice. They gossiped about Brenda's ugly lipstick shade on the way, only to be stopped after going through the basement door.

"Hey, Jackie." Hyde said, sitting in his chair. "Let's talk." he added, looking at Jackie.

Jackie pointed at herself in confusion. "Me? Don't you mean her?"

"Nah man, you heard me." Hyde told Jackie, raising an eyebrow above the rim of his sunglasses.

"Uh-oh." Eric gulped. "I'm too skinny & scared to be a part of World War III." he shakily said, and the gang stood up in unision, leaving the basement one by one.

"Thank you, Steven." June whispered to Hyde on her way out.

"What do you want, Steven?" Jackie said, arrogantly.

"Sit down." he told the brunette, pointing at the couch.

"Ugh." she sighed & sat down. "So? Don't waste my time Hyde, I'm here to see Michael."

"Jackie, man, I've been avoiding this conversation for a week, but you won't listen to June, so," he said, leaning back & crossing his arms. "Why are you trying to sabotage my relationship with your sister?"

"I mean, it's simple." Jackie said. "I can't have MY sister seen with a low-life like you, Steven."

"Oh, and Kelso's so much better, yeah?" Hyde said in confusion.

"Michael's face was carved by angels, we're making people jealous!" she defended her arguement. "You don't care about June, Hyde. You'll end up hurting her, and I'm not letting that happen." Jackie crossed her arms. "She can do so much better, like Tommy Thompson!"

"Jackie." Hyde sighed. "I don't like you, at all. In fact, I despise you." he said, making Jackie nod in agreement. "But I do get you're protective of her, man - and I promise you, let me say that again - I promise YOU that I'll treat her good."

"You know what?" she said. "Fine, I'm done fighting this, Hyde." she genuinely sighed. "But you make one mistake, and I'm telling our dad. You remember that." Jackie told him with all seriousness & got up, leaving to see Kelso, Hyde followed her.

The Forman's Living Room.

After Hyde confronted Jackie & seemingly made peace with her, the both of them joined the gang upstairs in the living room. It was quiet, Fez, Kelso & Eric were visibly uncomfortable while Donna & June sat next to each other with crossed arms, looking away.

"Come on ladies, me and Jackie are friends now, maybe you should be too." laughed Hyde, as he sat himself on the couch next to June.

The two girls looked at Hyde, but he didn't stop smiling. "Hyde, get out." Donna said.

"I got no place to go, so...I'm gonna stay here." he chuckled "But the tension's nice. Reminds me of home."

"Steven." June glared at her boyfriend.

"Oh-" Hyde sat up. "Let's go." he told the gang in a concerned tone and they all got up, leaving the room.

"And we're not friends!" Jackie had to tell Donna & June, before leaving herself.

June turned to Donna & crossed her arms. "June, I'm so, so sorry." Donna sighed. "I shouldn't have told Eric, I thought I could trust him."

"Maybe as much as I can trust you." June said with a sad frown.

"Look - I get if you don't wanna tell me anything anymore." Donna told her. "But we've been best friends forever, and I miss you."

"Oh, Donna." June sighed. "I miss you, too." she gave in very quickly, mostly because she really missed her redheaded friend.

Donna hugged June & they reconciled almost instantly. "But hey, you're with Hyde now." Donna chuckled.

"Yeah, isn't it weird?" June laughed.

"It totally is. And I promise I'll never tell Eric anything ever again...or anybody." she assured June before breaking the hug.
They picked themselves up & went to the basement with a smile. Everyone was relieved things were talked through, especially Fez, who hated when they fought. They all hoped for better times without conflict in the future - even Jackie, and they all got together and played cards until they were too tired.

I thought it really needed a shorter clear-the-air chapter, since it's no fun when they're pissed at each other. Hope you're happy too, now I can get back to writing a little more fun situations, or anything you'd suggest, for that matter 🥰🥰 Feel free to leave ideas in the comments or my DMs ❤️
