Years and years apart
I never thought I'd see you this way
With a smile on your face
And tiredness in your eyes.Miles and miles apart
I never thought I'd see you at all
With your unruly hair
And your knowing smileStep by step
As you get a little closer
Your face get a little clearer
Memories start to trickleWord after word
My ears start to remember
The voice that once
Lulled me to slumberEach smile and laughter
Each frown and snicker
Word by hurtful word
Tear by painful tear
Memories upon memories
We built our life on
We didn't think it would collapse
Like a house of cardsWe hoped against hope
That this thing we had would last
Never realizing
It will soon become 'the past'Inch by inch
Pandora's box opened
But that tiny hope
Was not in sightSecond by second
Time passed
Each one a year too fast
Still, i kept my mouth shutHours and hours ago,
I didn't
See it this way.Days and days ahead,
I know
I would regret this day.
