Chapter 26 - It Was Gravity

Buckling myself up in Jay vehicle, I sat behind Jay well he began driving off towards the city of Ouroboros.

I've only read about it in books, but never have seen it. This is an experience of a lifetime.

'I sound like every historian...'

"Wake up, Y/n! We are going into full drive!" shouts Jay in such a small space my ears hurt.

I wave my hand gesturing for him to quiet down, "Calm down! I am awake! Just thinking..."

"About Lloyd~?"

I shake my hand giving him a blank reaction, "What about him?" 'Blonde, smart, tall, cool, and hot'

"You and Lloyd have something going on? You two seem really happy around each other," asks Jay as he turns the wheel drifting us.

I protect my head as I hit the side of the vehicle, he is a terrible driver. "We are friends. Nothing more or less."

"I swear you two will leave out of nowhere and come back smiling," Jay wiggles his eyebrows in the mirror looking at me.

I advert my eyes from Jay and to the window. Lloyd and I do hang out a lot but not as much as we do with the ninja. I don't think we come back smiling either...

"Hey! Clean your mind!" I shout slapping Jay's shoulder.

"Is everything good over there? You are going everywhere?" calls Kai from the radio system.

"Yeah, we are just talking about-" My hand reaches over ripping Jay's headset off and placing it on my own head.

"We are perfect over here. Jay is just a bad driver," I glance at the driver, who rolls his eyes at me.

"Good. Just don't die before we reach the City of Ouroboros," comments Lloyd adding a little chuckle. 'That's cute.'

I turn off my microphone on the headset, "You are not talking about that to them."

"We all can see it," pauses Jay. "We wonder who is going to play the first move... or have you already done it?"

"We haven't done anything."

"Ha! So you do like him!"

"No! He is just my friend! We have to be friends because of our powers," I set a little light in my palm, shinning off the mirror landing next to him.

"Mhmm~ sure..."

I crossed my arms looking away from Jay. I don't like talking about my feelings with people. Besides Lloyd is another subject.

Let's just say if I could draw...
There would be a lot of him in my drawing book.

"Are we almost there?" I ask still focusing outside the window.

"We have a bit to go," announces Jay as the sand began to fly onto his windows. He clicks a button and the windshield wipers began.

"Hey! Am I still speaking with Y/n?" Cole calls over the mic. "Tell Jay to start flying upwards or he is going to crash into me."

I turn on my mic, "I will." Leaning forward towards Jay's ear. "Fly up or you are going to kill Cole!"

Jay shook in his seat, raising one hand to cover his right ear. The one I shouted in. "I will! I will! I can't see with the sand!"

Pulling the wheel back towards him, I fall back into my seat. Gravity is pushing me down to my seat, and you can't fight gravity. Unless you're really powerful.

"We are going to space!?" I whisper out of excitement. Not going to lie, space is so cool.

Kai laughs patting my back, "What else does a rocket ship do?"

"They could explode! Boom!" Jay made an explosion motion with his hands. I placed my hands together and pulled them away making a small light flash. "Boom!"

"The rocket ship won't explode unless planned. But it seems that they actually plan on going to space," explains Zane stepping towards the back on the ship.

I followed him leaning my back against it, "That makes sense. But why call it Arcturus?"

"There is a giant red star in space called Arcturus. The brightest star in our sky. I assume that we are flying to Arcturus."

A red star? I've never seen a red star looking up at the stars during nighttime... maybe it is because I am training inside too much.

"Everyone should lay down against this wall, we don't want injuries because of that," announces Zane.

"We can swim in space," mumbles Lloyd.

"Did you just say 'we can swim in space'?" I repeat what Lloyd said in a question format.

"Yes. Yes I did," Lloyd says turn to me sticking out his tongue.

I stuck my tongue out and wiggle my fingers in the air. I was acting like a child, but it's fun. Especially since Lloyd is willingly going to play along.

"You two lovely's can swim in space later! We have to-"

"Set off in 3."

"Oh no..."

"2."

"Hold me!"

"1."

My arms wrapped tightly around him, as the rocket-ship flew up into space. The gravity pushing my body down onto Lloyd's.

I don't have a fear of heights. Just going into space, it seemed like a dream. A scary dream at that.

The screams of the ninja rang through my head as I held my eyes shut. Pressing my head against Lloyd's body, willingly and forced by gravity.

It reminded me of my time with my adopted parents.

Forced to leave with their screams ringing in my ears. Not accepting me for who I was.

Now seeing them after these years, learning that I have a brother. Unknown if he is even alive.

I know I've grown up with my adopted parents since I was a baby. So, my brother must be older than I am.

Maybe he is an elemental master like me? That would have to mean my parents are both elemental masters.

Maybe Wu or Garmadon know who my father is or my brother.

I know my mother has my powers too. So my father must have been known to Wu and Garmadon. After all, it seems all the elemental masters knew each other.

"Y/n?"

I flutter my eyes open to see the green fabric. Lifting my head up I see Lloyd looking down at me, his dark green eyes looking at me with concern. His soft blonde hair bouncing up and down.

"Hm?" I mumble through my lips still staring at his features. 'Why is he good looking?'

"We are floating now," he says softly. The warm breath from his voice I feel over my face.

I look around seeing the Ninja floating around, some talking to Wu and Kai. Well staring at Lloyd and me.

"We are!" I cheer smiling up at Lloyd. My grip slightly loosens, then it hit me.

"I'm sorry that I'm clinging onto you," I apologize looking up at Lloyd. He only chuckled with a smile. "It's perfectly fine."

I laughed as I cling my body more to his. His arms wrapped around my waist, as mine around his torso. To be honest, I want to stay like this forever.
