Chapter 4

Emmets POV:

"What are you doing here?" Xavier asked.

"I need your help with something." I said as I looked into his eyes pleading.

He looked around as if not wanting to get caught then asked, "With what?"

"Gidget isn't doing well, they don't think she'll make it through the night."

Something changed in his eyes but soon was masked with another emotion.

"What does that have to do with me?"

I don't know if he's playing dumb or something is wrong with him.

I look at him confused, "You know she can't live without you."

"She has done fine so far."

"If she was doing fine I wouldn't be here right now, you are her last option."

He looked as if he didn't know how to reply.

"Just come with me and see for yourself."

He looked unsure at first but then walked out with me.
We made our way down the hall and as we got closer to Gidget the more fidgety
Xavier seemed to be. I think that even if he doesn't realize it he can still sense her.
Maybe he's not hopeless after all.

We entered the room and Gidget was lying there looking almost lifeless.
I looked to Xavier and saw all the life drain from his face.
I was almost as if something clicked and he knew exactly what to do.
He rushed to her bite his wrist and put it up to her mouth.
The longer it took the hope we had started to fade.
I saw a lone tear fall from his eyes and that's when I knew whatever Bianca did to him, at that moment wasn't working.

"Please," he pleaded holding her tight against him.

And then,

Gidget's POV:

I felt warmth all around me. I'm not sure why but felt safe.
I slowly started to open my eyes. The room was so bright I winced a little.
Someone was holding me but not Emmet because I could see him across the room.
I looked up and saw the face I had been craving for all this time.
But why is he here, I thought he didn't care any more.
While I was lost in thought I must have moved because he realized I was awake.

"Thank God." Xavier said as he moved closer to kiss me.

Before I knew it his lips where on mine and I lost all train of thought and melted into the kiss. When it finally broke I looked into those blue eyes I loved so much.
I put my hand on his face and he leaned into my touch.

"Why?" I said in a soft voice.

"I didn't have control." He looked down in shame.

"How's that possible?"

"I'll explain everything later right now you need to rest."

"No! I want to know now. I've been horrible this whole time and you didn't care at all and I need to know why!" I said as I moved away from him.

He looked to me and slightly nodded.

"Well you know how Bianca took my heart out?"

I nodded urging him to continue.

"She kept it. I don't know who did the spell but a witch made it to where she can control me with my heart. I didn't realize what had happened until the moment I saw you looking almost dead. I don't know how but it broke me out of the daze I was in."

" Do you know where she has it?"

"Last I knew she had it in her room, other than that no."

"We need to get it back."

"We do not need to. I need to. I can't risk you getting hurt again."

"You think I'm going to let you go when she may still be able to control you then you are beyond insane."

"Fine, but if she's there we leave right away, and we are not doing it until you rest for a little."

As much as I wanted to object I felt the exhaustion from everything pulling at me.
So I nodded and leaned back.

"You'll stay right?" I said not wanting to leave him again.

"I wouldn't leave for anything." He said taking my hand in his.

Emmet came closer to me and leaned down to kiss my forehead.

"I'm so happy you're okay, I'll see you later alright."

"Okay."

Emmet headed for the door and gave one last glance before closing the door behind him. I looked to Xavier before falling into a deep sleep.
