~ Chapter 5 ~

"Just wanted to see you again, experiment" dr. Gaster spoke slyly

You stared blankly at his face. Who does he think he is calling me his experiment?!
"I'm not your fucking experiment" you said making sure he understood how much you hated the monster right in front of you.

"Ah, I see you still are the same sassy human I picked up all those years ago" you stayed silent watching to see what Gaster would do, unsurprisingly he did nothing. Gaster eventually got bored of your silent treatment and continued on, "how are my sons doing?"
this actually made you laugh.

"Like you care! You've never cared about them! You just used them as your lab rats!"  You shouted, gaster was making you really mad now. Unfortunately being so mad you didn't realise this was exactly what gaster wanted. "ALL YOU CARED ABOUT WAS YOUR FUCKING EXPERIMENTS! You never loved them" you voice broke sending s/c tears rolling down you face and a flaming s/c appear in your eye.

"Ah so it did work?" Gaster said more to himself then you "maybe I could observe from here and con-" that's when you lost it.

"I WILL NEVER LET YOU CONTINUE ANYTHING AGAIN!" Your anger mixed with your tears made you summon gaster blasters aiming straight at him. Your blasters would've fired if you wasn't pushed back and pinned down by some unknown force.

"Ah" gaster smiled "it appears you have woken up sans... until next time" and with that everything went white and you woke up.

"Y/n! Wake up!" You woke up to sans sat over you, pinning your arms and legs down. Your face was tear stained and you felt exhausted despite just waking up.
"What's going on?" You blushed at the position you and sans were in but covered it up pretty well. Sans double checked you were awake before standing up and offering a hand to you.
"Well... I heard you screaming and when I walked downstairs it looked like you were trying to kill someone, your blasters were out and you looked furious"
"Oh" was all you could manage to say
"So what was it about?" Sans tilted his head at you. That when everything hit you like a tornado and you started crying heavily
"H-he's not dead" you sobbed and hiccuped "h-he found me a-and asked about you guys. I-I told him to s-shut up because h-he o-obviously doesn't care an-" sans shushed you and hugged you
"It's okay y/n, it was just a dream" you pushed away from sans. He needed to understand.
"No sans listen to me. He's not dead. He's going to come back and continue. This is the first timeline this has ever happened" you grabbed onto his arms as you spoke to show how serious and annoyed you were. Unfortunately, you let your secret slip.
"Timelines?" Sans repeated, dead serious
"Fuck..." you whispered "Uh sorry I don't know what i was talking about, I must have been really mad" you nervously laughed
"Y/n... you know about timelines?" Sans actually looked annoyed now
"Yes" you sighed
"You remember them?"
"Yes"
There was silence for a few moments
"I remember them too" no words could describe the shock and relief that was now showing on your face. I'm not the only one! You almost cried out in joy. Though a thought hit you half way through this celebratory moment. Sans had to deal with all his friends losing memories too and you know from experience that that sucks.
"Sans... I'm sorry" sans actually looked shocked at this
"W-what are you sorry for?" He turned to face you
"I know how it feels... to have made good memories with people and then you wake up and it seems like it never happened"
There was, once again, silence.
"How did you figure it out?" Seeing your confused face sans elaborated "like how did you figure out that it was timelines resetting?"
"Oh that" you scratched your neck as you recalled the memories "at first I told people but they thought i was crazy. Other times I would've been killed by people and woke up the next day like nothing ever happened. The hardest times was when my life was going great and I would wake up in that same horrible room I grew up in. In the orphanage. At the beginning I wished it would reset all the way back to the beginning so I could see my parents again... and so I could see you guys and perhaps even prevent all the hell we went through. But that never happened. It would always reset just after I got out of the mountain"
"Did you ever see me"
"Yes" sans looked at you, sadness was on his face and eyes "it's not like I didn't want to see you!" You quickly explained "every time mount ebbot was opened I ran to the top to greet you guys but as I reached the top everything would reset. The resets sucks but there's one reset I remember too well. Just after the world reset I saw a child's face, kinda looked like frisk but older, and yours. Your face would haunt my dreams for many resets. It was so betrayed and sad. That only happened for one reset though. The reset you actually caught a glimpse of me"
"I remember that reset" sans said solemnly. It almost sounded like he was going to cry. "After I saw you I was going to run towards you but frisk reset. I didn't understand why. I was so mad. So when she finally fell again I confronted her. She didn't give me a reason but she did promise me it would never happen again" not being able to hold back the tears anymore you hugged sans and you both sobbed into each other's shoulders for a whole minute. Eventually you stopped crying and was left exhausted from your injuries and nightmares. You fell asleep on sans' shoulder and you could've sworn you heard him say
"Sleep well, buttercup. I love you" followed by something smooth touching your head.
When sans thought you were asleep he carried you to his bedroom where he placed you down on his bed and climbed in with you. Eventually after getting comfortable sans fell asleep almost instantly, sensing it was safe to open you eyes you glanced at sans' sleeping form. He was such a kind and smart person. He had beautiful dark pools for eyes and his genuine smile was like striking gold. As you continued staring at him something hit you,
you've fallen for a skeleton
What no! That crazy. You thought.
But is it that crazy? I mean he's always there for you.
Even if I did like him he's way out of my league
Didn't he say he loved you though?
Yeah... could've been in a friendly way though

Blushing at the conversation you just had with yourself inside your own head, you kissed sans on the head and whispered the same thing he did to you. You also grabbed his hand and snuggled into his hoodie before falling into a peaceful, gasterless, sleep.

Woah sorry for how emotional that one was. I've just broken up with my gf and clearly had a lot of emotions to express 😂 it's been really hard and I've just come back from being on holiday so finally taking sometime on my own. Also thank thank thank you my little temmies for getting this book over 90 reads like whah the heck?! I love you guys to pieces and I wouldn't finish this book until everyone is satisfied! Also I never asked what you guys thought of the valentines post. I hope it wasn't too bad. I'm not very good with sappy stuff. It's currently 11:22pm and I'm sat on my floor surrounded in mess 😂 fml 😂🤦🏼‍♀️ anyways see yall temmies later!
