She was going to kiss me.
I was going to kiss her.
We were going to kiss.
And then we kissed. As soon as our lips touched it was like everything in my life had finally fallen into place. I felt complete at last. I didn't care about anything apart from my lips and her lips and our kiss. It was perfect.
But she broke it off.
"Billie?"
"I- i just remembered, I have to go somewhere. I'm sorry. Go home." She quickly stuffed everything back into her bag and started running.
"BILLIE! WAIT!" I tried to go after her, but it was no use. When Billie has made up her mind about something there's no shifting her. So I slowly walked by myself back to Billie's, making myself more and more miserable. What had happened? Did she not like the kiss? Did she not like me? Had I forced myself upon her? Had I made her uncomfortable?
When I knocked on the door, it was Claudia who answered, and I was relieved.
"Wh-" she started.
"I don't want to talk about it." I was about to walk past her but I needed a hug, and I threw myself into her arms, holding back tears. She hugged me back and called for Maggie Patrick and Finneas. She carried me to the couch and plopped me on it. The others appeared and I had to fight the tears as I told them what had happened in the park. Claudia put her hand on my shoulder. Maggie and Patrick were calling and texting Billie and trying to contact her, but she wasn't replying.
"For god's sake Billie!" Maggie shouted from the other side of the room as Billie continued to not answer the phone. What had I done..?
"Finneas.." I looked at him. I reached my hand out to him and he took it immediately.
"I know Kayla. I know."
I made myself comfortable in Billie's bed and shut my eyes, trying to get to sleep. But sleep wouldn't come. Thoughts were racing around my mind like a racetrack of reasons why Billie ran off like that, and to where, each one worse than the last. I could hear muffled talking, Claudia telling the others what happened. I didn't mind.
It was hours later, and i was still wide awake, when I heard creaking and the window being forced open. I opened one eye and saw Billie climbing through the window, trying to be quiet, thinking I was asleep. I was tempted to get up and give that bitch a piece of my mind, but I didn't. I decided Billie needed time and her own space to come to come around. I just knew I wouldn't wait long, so she'd have to do it soon.

Sorry for the short chapter! Why do you think Billie left, and where did she go? 👀
