Warning: This chapter contains (mild) gory descriptions. For those who are easily squeamish, you can skip the descriptions.

Eagle Academy, a glorious academy and also known for its prestigious status and ostentatious architecture. It has almost two hundred years of history, and the academy was maintained with care throughout the two centuries.

Regrettably, the same academy was now in ruins. It was filled to the brim with corpses, its humongous metal gates has been completely smashed. There was also a few holes in the concrete walls, and the corpses were aimlessly wandering in certain spots, while the others were eagerly trying gobble up innocent victims.

Cecil watched on in horror, in the novel, the academy sustained the same damages, but seeing it in person was a different thing. Cecil never thought she'll see the day the academy is brought to ruins, seeing how prestigious it was at first sight.

The author...really doesn't exaggerate. This academy, now looks like a dilapidated building because of this invasion of corpses.

Moreover, in the novel, Xue joined in the destruction. At that time, the souls wasn't in the academy but at the town instead. It seems like the time they had arrived here differed from the novel, or maybe something else had changed.

Kai: "In the academy, they are there, three of us."

Xue listened to Kai, observing the scene with a scowl. "Walking into the academy is impossible with these corpses."

"You want to find another way through?"

Xue shook his head, gripping onto his spear. "Launch me up into the air."

Cecil stared at him for a moment, and her limpid eyes lit up in understanding.

"Alright," she smiled. "Good luck, Xue."

Xue smirked, sauntering and halting a few steps later, spinning his spear and placing it in front of him. Cecil knew that was a signal, and she inhaled deeply, immediately conjuring a pillar and launching Xue into the air.

Xue whirled around in the air, aiming his body and his spear downwards, diving towards the centre of the crowd of corpses.

Cecil watched on in veneration.

Xue landed, cutting a corpse in half as it split apart like paper, the blood, flesh and guts splattered onto Xue, but he didn't care. His spear impaled the ground, the momentum causing a violent shockwave that blasted the corpses around him away.

In an instant, half of the crowd of corpses was wiped out. These corpses piled onto the other corpses, and soon it caused a domino effect.

Xue stood in the centre of the mayhem, wiping the blood and residue from his face, flicking his wrist. A portion of his clothes was a bloody mess, and he once again, kicked the broken corpse away.

Since it was already in half, Xue's kick caused more of its innards to fly out.

The smile dropped from Cecil's face long ago.

Actually...this isn't so cool to watch anymore. It is actually kind of...disgusting--

Cecil saw Xue plucking off a piece of flesh from his shirt, tossing it aside.

It looked like part of a tongue.

She became pale, her hand flying to her mouth as she retched.

"Let's go."

She stiffened, forcing a smile. "Understood, Xue."

She picked up her pace, glancing at the entrance of the academy, its ground completely blood-spattered and she shuddered upon seeing some pieces of...things she would rather not think about.
