CHAPTER 36 | SMALL TALK

Ylva's P.O.V.

"Jessie thinks your new look is sexy," I told Pyro as I wait for him to come out of the dressing room.

"Why are you telling me this," he groans in disgust, "I don't care what he thinks of me."

"Just wanted you to know," I couldn't help but smile, it was fun teasing him just a little, "they both seem to be turned on by you when they saw you, you might have to watch for Gus as well."

"You keep playing," he poked his head out from behind the curtains, glaring at me,  "you will go without me!"

"Lighten up," I lean back into the chair, "I'm impressed at how strong your aura is now that you are taming your abilities. But, I guess most of it because of your wolf."

"They were able to sense her presence," he went on to say as he disappears behind the curtains, "I am having trouble concealing her presence, or should I say our true presence."

"Well, both of you are on better terms," I stare out the window, watching strangers walk past, "the closer you two become, the stronger your true presence will be."

"If I distance myself from her," there was a long pause before he continued, "my true presence will fade, but-"

"But, your abilities will become unstable," I quickly said before he could finish.

I knew for a while that Pyro had no real choice but to train and learn about his abilities. From what I overheard, Aoki told him, his power will grow whether he wanted it or not. If he didn't train and understand his powers, the chance of him losing control and killing us is great.

"I wonder if I am still Pyro," he went on to say, "I'm changing so much, I don't know if I am the same person."

"Don't say things like that," I quickly said in a more sterner tone, "you are still Pyro no matter how many changes you go through. Besides, with time, everyone changes, look at Tasha."

"Did they find any leads?" he asked, I could tell he was curious.

"No."

Each time we moved we had to make sure we couldn't be tracked, I guessed Tasha learned a few of them. After what happened that day in the foyer, we all knew she would come after Pyro. The display of power she showed, the only one that can stand up to her is Pyro, but I wonder if he would be able to do it if it comes to it.

"About Tasha," I whispered.

"She is going to come after me, right?"

"There is a good chance," I couldn't help but let out a stressful sigh, "she won't be coming for a nice family dinner either."

"Maybe-"

"There isn't a maybe," I cut him off, knowing where he was trying to take this conversation, "I'm sure she will not hesitate in taking your life or those that are in her way. She is not the Tasha we used to know, maybe she never really was."

"All this is happening because of my wolf," I heard him whisper.

"NO," I made my way over to the dressing room he was in, "Listen to me. This has nothing to go with your wolf. Sometimes peoples' expectations don't meet their hard reality, and they can't handle it. What Tasha is going through is because she doesn't love herself."

"I guess," seconds later, the curtains open, "I get this one."

"What. I didn't get to see it," I pointed out.

"You will see it at the party," he groans as he makes his way over to the cashier.

"Okay," I said with a smile as I made my way over to him, "just wait till you see mine."

"Hopefully, it will keep the eyes on you."

"I don't know, I do have some serious competition," I teased.

"I don't know, I do have some serious competition," I teased
