Warnings: the usual depressive and suicidal thoughts, angst (because we can't live without it), bouts of misplaced and rightful anger and miscommunication. If any of these triggers you, please don't read.

Author's Notes: First I apologize. This chapter was already posted on Ao3, but I forgot to post it here. So not exactly a new chapter. Though, Chapter 14 will finally be out in a few days, once I'm done editing and proof-reading.

Also this chapter and the next one was hella hard to write. Maybe it was because of it being just a fluff and fill-in chapter? I think I got used t writing angst-based chapters xD

In case all of you noticed, and you must notice, that the writing has suddenly improved and isn't all that messy as before, then it is thanks to @/Lauradrakkyn on Ao3 for beta-reading! Thank you!

"How could you do this to me?!"

There was a long silence that was only broken by pitiful weeping.

"I trusted you, da-ge! But to think you would-!"

"...Huaisang," Nie MingJue cut his brother mid-sentence. [Had his brother finally gone mental? Was it his fault? Had he finally pushed him too far?] "What nonsense are you spouting now?"

Nie Huaisang glared. MingJue was impressed. When had his cowardly little brother become strong enough to glare at him? Usually it was the other way around.

"You!" Huaisang pointed accusingly. "became friends with Young Master Wei! Before me!"

Nie MingJue stared.

"Huaisang, I'm not friends with him. I don't even know him."

Really, what had given him that idea? Yes, he may have had a few drinks with the demonic cultivator, but that was it. He didn't go out of his way to meet Wei MingYu. [Was it the way he observed the demonic cultivator? He may be willing to reconsider his perspective a little bit, but that didn't mean he wouldn't keep an eye on him. He could be dangerous.]

Nie Huaisang looked at him balefully, "You've still had far more conversations wit him than I have!"

...Was his brother jealous? Of him? For talking to a demonic cultivator?

"You're introducing me to him," Huaisang declares with the air of a boss. Nie MingJue didn't know whether he should commend him for growing a backbone or be worried that his brother was this obsessive with the demonic cultivator.

Did he even qualify as someone to introduce his brother to Wei MingYu? They weren't even friends, for god's sake! [That demonic cultivator better accept his brother. Nobody denied his brother anything. Except him, of course.]

If somebody were to ask Lan Xichen about how his time has been since his sect accepted students, then he would, without hesitation, say 'stressful.' It wasn't the students that were stressing him out, but rather one individual. [How could everything revolve around him?! It was like he was at the epicentre of everything!]
