Chapter 30: Knives, Food, And Himiko

Chapter 30

Shiraito Falls

11:45 AM

Me: So Himiko...

Himiko: Yes Izuku

Me: I was wondering if you had any idea on how I could control my quirk...

Himiko: I'd figured you would ask me that, so I had an idea what if you didn't rely on your quirk as much

Me: wait don't use my quirk

Himiko: Of course and I can teach you a different style *pulls knife from the inside of her black cardigan and tosses it at me*

Me: Himiko *tries to catch the knife but misses and the knife hits the floor*

Himiko: Oh Izuku your so clumsy

Me: Himiko you can use knives?

Himiko: Wait are you disappointed

Me: Just the opposite, I think it's amazing that you can do this Himiko

Himiko: Thanks Izuku, so I figured we would start with the basics

Me: Okay Himiko please teach me

Himiko: *Smiles* Well let's begin Izuku

Me: After we left Shiraito Falls Himiko trained me in Tantōjutsu. We would walk a few hours then we would do some more training in Tantōjutsu. First she taught me some basic strikes, apparently according to Himiko I was natural. Later she taught me to throw knives at targets. First fruits from trees to hunting rabbits. Speaking of rabbits as Himiko taught me Tantōjutsu I taught her the basics of cooking

Himiko: So this is cooking huh *smiles*

Me: Himiko your going to over cook the rabbit if you keep it on one side, you have to flip it back and forth

Himiko: Izuku but both sides are cooked like you said

Me: Okay Himiko now take the rabbit and place it on the paper plate over there

Himiko: *takes meat off of the grill and places it on the plate*

Me: Before we eat... um Himiko do you have a cooking knife

*Himiko Flashback*

Himiko's Mom: *cutting the meat on a plate* Himiko stop looking at me like that

Himiko (6 years old): But Momma I'm hungry

Himiko's Dad: Shut up this is your punishment for using your quirk, your uncle is getting tired of disposing all the bodies just because you get excited

Himiko's Mom: So maybe going without food for awhile will teach you a lesson

Himiko: But momma

Himiko's Dad: Shut up Himiko *hits her with a whip*

Himiko's Mom: Go to your room you devil

Himiko: Momma?

Himiko's Dad: *hits her with a whip* NOW YOU BITCH

*Present Day*

Himiko: Uh yeah Izuku we can just use some of my extra knives...

Me: Are you okay Himiko? *noticing her sudden lack of cheerfulness*

Himiko: *smiles* I'm okay Izuku just tired... Just tired

Me: In the end we were getting closer and closer to Hosu but someone would meet us, someone who would not only explain the past but would also help me to understand what I am, what I had become. Little did I know that everything would converge in Hosu, Hosu was the beacon for what was the final answer to Himiko's question, why did I want to become a hero.
