I apologize for keeping my readers waiting. <3 It took me longer to finish this chapter than I had originally intended. <3 It's finally here for your reading pleasure. :) <3 Enjoy!! ^_^ <3

Harry's happiness at winning the Quidditch Cup lasted for at least a week. Even the weather was cooperating with him. As June rolled in, the weather was clear, sunny and warm. All anyone wanted to do was to go outside and sit on the grass or under a tree with a goblet of ice cold pumpkin juice. But they couldn't. Exams were nearly here, so instead of being outside, the students were forced to stay inside the castle. They were trying their best to concentrate on their studies, while the smell of summer drifted through the windows. Even Fred and George were spotted studying. They were about to take their O.W.Ls (Ordinary Wizarding Levels). Only 5th year students took those. Percy was getting ready to take the N.E.W.Ts (Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Tests). The Highest Test Hogwarts offered. Only 7th year students took the N.E.W.Ts. Percy was hoping to enter the Ministry of Magic, so he needed top grades. He was so on edge, that he gave very severe punishments to anyone who that ruined the peaceful silence of the common room. The only one looking more on edge than Percy, was Hermione. Harry and Ron gave up on asking Hermione on how she was going to several classes at once. They still couldn't stop themselves when they saw the exam schedule she made for herself. The first column read:

Monday

9am Arithmancy

9am Transfiguration

Lunch

1pm Charms

1pm Ancient Runes

Ron said cautiously, since Hermione tends to explode whenever she was interrupted, "Hermione? Er.... Are you sure you've copied down these times right?" Hermione snaps as she looks at her exam schedule, "What? Yes, of course I have." Harry said, "Is there any point asking how you're going to sit for 2 exams at once?" Hermione said, "No. Have either of you seen my copy of Numerology and Gramatica?" Ron said, "Oh yeah, I borrowed it for a bit of bedtime reading." Hermione, who was moving a pile of parchment paper, stops and said, "Can you please return the book to me. I need it to study for the exam, Ron." Ron said as Hermione sets the pile of parchment paper back down on the table. Ron said, "Sure, Hermione." Ron runs upstairs and gets the book, then runs back downstairs and hands it to Hermione. He said. "Sorry about that, Hermione." Hermione said, "Thank you, Ron. It's ok. Just ask for the book, the next time you need it, ok?" Ron said, "You're welcome, Hermione. I will." Just then, Hedwig flies in and lands on the table, a note held tightly in her beak. Harry thanks Hedwig and takes the note. He opens and reads it. After reading it Harry said, "It's from Hagrid. Buckbeak's appeal is set for the 6th." Hermione said, "That's the day we finish our exams." Harry said, "They're coming up here to do it. Someone from the Ministry and.... And an Executioner...." Hermione looks shocked, "They're bringing the Executioner to the appeal?! That sounds as though they've already decided!" Harry said, "Yeah, it does." Ron shouts, "They can't! I've spent ages reading up on stuff for him! They can't just ignore it all" Harry, however, had a horrible feeling that the Committee for the Disposal of Dangerous Creatures had already made up their minds, thanks to Mr. Malfoy. Malfoy, who was subdued since Gryffindor won the Quidditch Cup, had now regained most of his usual self over the next few days. Based on the sneering comments Harry overheard, Malfoy was sure that Buckbeak was going to be killed. He was so pleased with himself for making that happen. Harry did all he could to keep himself from doing what Hermione did, which was to punch Malfoy in the face. Snape had to punish Malfoy several times on several occasions, to prevent Malfoy from pissing off Harry. Worse of all, they didn't have time nor opportunity to go and see Hagrid, because the strict new security measures was still in effect. Harry didn't dare use his invisibility cloak, for fear of Snape punishing him.
