Jane woke up early. She didn't jump on Constance's bed this time. It was Christmas and she wanted to light all the decorations and the Christmas tree. It was still dark outside, it was what she wanted, to just see the Christmas lights. She sat on the ground, facing the beautiful tree with her two Teddy bears on her lap and Dog laying down next to her. It was so calm, like if Christmas was keeping her in another world, full of colors, funny cakes, and love.

A door slowly opened. Joyce heard someone walking and was wondering if one of the kids was sick, but she was relieved to see Jane sitting in the living-room, so she sat next to her.

- "What are you doing here, early bird?" smiled Joyce.

- "I, I wanted to watch the lights..." explained Jane, worried she did something bad.

- "It's ok sweetheart, you can watch the lights. But you know they'll be there tomorrow too, right?"

- "I know...I guess I couldn't wait."

- "I see, but if you don't sleep, you'll be tired during Christmas night, you don't want that, right?"

- "I guess not."

- "Then, go back to sleep sweetie, the lights will still be there tomorrow."

- "Ok, good night," smiled Jane.

The young girl stood and joined her bed. She couldn't wait for Christmas; it was her favorite moment of the year. Constance bought a small Christmas tree with one light that she gave to Jane one time, like that she always had a light with her, even when she was alone. She always had this little tree, "her baby Christmas tree", like she called it.

For the breakfast, Jane took her baby Christmas tree with her. Joyce prepared pancakes, hot chocolates, cereals, fruits, waffles, and many other things for them.

- "So? Are you excited for the arrival of Santa Clause?" asked Joyce.

- "Mom, it's been a while we stopped believing in this!" told Will.

- "Maybe some still believe in it," stated the mother, insisting on Jane.

- "She doesn't believe in Santa Clause," said Constance.

- "Oh, ok, I wanted to be sure."

- "She believed in it like...I don't know, at five or six she understood there was no Santa Clause."

- "Oh, really? This young? Why?"

- "Because I never had presents, just one, even when I was a nice girl, so, I thought first he was too busy with other kids, but then, I understood it was Constance who was buying my only present," explained Jane.

- "Oh...I'm sorry sweetie..."

- "It's fine, Constance know my taste better than anyone. Except one."

- "What!?" frowned Constance.

- "You bought a book of conjugation one time!" chuckled the young girl.

- "With candies! I couldn't stand your awful English anymore!"

- "Yeah, I understood that, but it's fine, I've a better English now, right?"

- "Yeah, because I forced you to work on it."

- "True."

Constance playfully pushed her sister's head which made them laugh. Joyce, Jonathan, Will, Constance, and Jane spent the day together, playing games and preparing the Christmas dinner.

- "Can we eat?" asked Jane, feeling hungry because of the smells.

- "Be patient, it's almost ready," smiled Joyce.

- "I'm starving to death!"

- "Yeah, we heard your stomach rumbling," chuckled Jonathan.

- "The smells woke up the wolf in my belly!"

Jonathan chuckled before rubbing her hair, which annoyed the young girl. The five sat down to dinner and began to eat the turkey they prepared the entire day. Jane ate like if she hadn't eaten for days! At this moment, it was her favorite Christmas night; the others were ok, but she didn't have as much food as now, and she was in a safe and warm place, not like when Constance and her had to hide behind bins to sleep. And it was cold, so cold that she could hardly hold her baby Christmas tree in her hands, but she was with her sister, it was all that mattered.

But now, it was the moment Jane waited the most: the presents. She loved receiving presents, but what she preferred was seeing other people smiling when they received one, like if they never thought someone could spend time and money just for them. Well, Jane spent time to make them drawings, as she didn't have money, but they seemed really happy to get them. But the one who was the most surprised by her present was Constance.

- "Oh whoa! You bought me shoes!" stated the blonde teen.

- "Um, yeah, I did," smiled Jonathan.

- "Why? They must be expensive!"

- "Well, I heard you like dancing, and with your dirty old shoes...I didn't want you to break your ankles so, here you are, new shoes to dance."

- "Dude, that's too much! How can I thank you?"

- "You're kidding!? It's Christmas, I offered you this because I wanted to, not because I wanted something from you! Enjoy, that's all I want! And you offered me a damn film camera, I don't think you own me anything!"

Constance was so happy that she took the teen boy in her arms. Will put his new CDs on and invited everyone to dance with him. Once done, they decided it was time to sleep. Joyce proposed Jane if she wanted to sleep on the couch with the Christmas lights on, which Jane accepted gladly, asking Will if he wanted to stay with her. The two kids installed their stuff on the couch before joining their dreams after a wonderful day like this.
