Max arrived at school with a big smile. Neil was still at hospital being interrogated, which meant it was holidays at home. And his jaw and hands were broken, like that, if he came back home, he couldn't hurt anyone, giving them a break. She was so happy that when she saw Jane, she immediately took her in her arms without saying anything.

- "Um, hi to you too," said Jane with an amused tone.

- "Your sister broke my stepfather's jaw, it's a good thing," told Max.

- "Good, because she have horrible hands because of him."

- "Oh, sorry about that..."

- "Don't be, I put stickers on her bandages, she will be better soon."

- "Cool."

- "But Jonathan's nose look like a big potato," explained Jane with a light chuckle.

- "Really? It sounds funny," giggled the redhead.

Max broke the hug before kissing Jane's cheek, making smile the brunette. The two girls joined their first class together. While they were waiting, Jane showed Max the latest drawing she made for her. It was her Super-bunny with a red cape and a blue mask, flying with rainbows stickers behind him.

- "Oh my god, Jane! I love it! I'm going to dedicate a wall just for your drawings! He is so cool!" exclaimed Max. "One day, I'll go to cinema and watched a movie you drew, I'm sure!"

- "I wouldn't say no, it would be cool! There would be my name in the credits!"

- "I would watch them until the end just to see it."

- "It would be so cool!"

The teacher entered the classroom, forcing the girls to stop their conversation. The man was doing his usual speech before giving them back their tests. Jane was a bit stressing; even if her grades were not very important for her, she wanted her sister to be proud of her for this test as she worked a lot for it.

- "I'm sure I have a bad mark," pouted Jane.

- "Don't say that, I'm sure you did great," smiled Max.

- "I don't know, I'm not good in history..."

- "You can't be good everywhere; people would kill to have your talent in drawing!"

- "You think?"

- "I know that I would! You can draw everything you have in your mind, like giving life to your imagination!"

- "Yeah? I never saw that like that, it's cool then."

- "It's more than cool, Jane, you can create so much things with just a pen, it impresses me every time!"

- "Impress? Really?" asked Jane with a small smile.

- "Of course, who wouldn't?"

Jane had a small proud smile, not daring to look at Max who was widely smiling to her. The teacher approached the two girls, making fade the brunette's smile. The man gave the test to Jane who held it out to Max without looking at it.

- "Tell me if it's good, I don't wanna know."

- "Ok, (takes it) Jane!"

- "What!?"

- "You've ten!"

- "What!? Really!?"

The brunette quickly opened her eyes before leaning to Max to watch the paper.

- "Oh! No way! Constance is gonna be so happy!"

- "You deserve it, you work hard for this test, now be sure to work hard for the next ones, I don't wanna be alone next year!"

- "You won't be alone; the boys will be with you."

- "Yeah, I know, but I would prefer you to be with me, I, I feel good with you...like if, I don't know, I can't explain it, I just like being with you," explained the redhead with blushes on her cheeks.

- "I like being with you too," smiled Jane. "I'll work harder, to not let you alone."

- "Cool, and if you need help for some subjects, well, I can try to help you, or the boys, we'll be happy to help you."

- "Ok, I'll see."

- "Cool."

Max took Jane's hand and placed a soft kiss on the back of it. The bell rang, freeing the kids of their classes. Jane went through the halls to find her sister.

- "Look! I had the pass mark!" told proudly Jane, showing her paper.

- "Hey, that's really great, Jane! I'm proud of you! I knew you could make it!" smiled Constance.

- "Yeah, that's cool, now I need to keep working to not let Max alone next year!"

- "Good resolution."

Jane took her sister in her arms. Constance kissed the top of her head before rubbing her hair, annoying the young girl. At the same moment, Billy approached and watched them with insistence.

- "Not even in your dreams," told sharply Constance.

Billy had a smug smile before keeping walking. Constance watched him going away, to be sure he was leaving, before turning to her little sister again.

- "Don't fight, please," said Jane with a small voice.

- "I won't, why do you think I'll fight?" frowned Constance.

- "Every time he is here, you fight, and I don't want you to be hurt."

- "I won't fight, but he is looking for some trouble, you know I can't let him punch me without replying, ok?"

- "Just be careful, you don't deserve to be hurt."

- "I'll be ok. Go find your friends now, and don't worry for me, ok?"

- "Yeah, ok."

Jane kissed Constance's cheek before going back to Max. The two girls spent almost the entire day together. After class, Max wanted to do skateboard at the skatepark, and Jane accompanied her. Jane was sitting cross-legged on the ground, drawing, while Max was in the bowl, trying some tricks, failing most of them.

- "Damn, I suck!" grumbled Max.

- "No, I don't think you're bad, you're even good at it! But you're trying new tricks, it's normal to struggle with it. One day you'll do them perfectly, and you'll be so proud of you that you would be glad for not stopping!"

- "Yeah...Yeah! You're right!"

Max gave a friendly and vigorous tap on Jane's shoulder before going back in the bowl with confidence. The redhead felt like flying in this bowl, like if nothing could stop her. She arrived in the air, tried her trick, but failed her landing. She hit her foot against the edge of the bowl and tried to stop her fall with her left arm who made a weird angle. Max held her scream inside her mouth, but the pain was unbearable. Jane saw it and ran to her.

- "Oh no, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry!"

- "It's ok," told Max between her teeth. "Call an ambulance."

- "Uh, yeah, of course!"

Jane took her phone, but with the stress, she dropped it by accident on Max' face. She apologized one more time and managed to call an ambulance, trying to give indications to them. They arrived after thirty minutes and took the two girls to the hospital. Max' arm was broken, so the girl had to stay two days at hospital to let the plaster solidify. Jane was feeling guilty, it was her who told her to keep going, if she didn't, Max wouldn't be there now.

The redhead wasn't mad at all at her, she was skateboarding since years, she knew something like that could happen, and she didn't want Jane to think it was her fault. She was too nice to be the reason of her misfortune.
