Looking around at the group, Hermione's eyes land on Alexandra before she calmly asks if she has given Draco a love potion, to which nothing is said.
But Hermione knew the answer as a smile crept onto her face.

"Right then. Harry, Draco. If you two would follow me to Headmistress McGonagall's office, that would be lovely." Hermione says calmly, heading straight to her office

"Seriously? Do you honestly think I'm gonna let you get away with taking him back that easy? Hell no."

"Who's the second letter from? I forgot to ask." Blaise asks Draco

"It's from my mother. I haven't bothered to open it yet. I probably should, or she'll send me a howler for not replying." Draco sighed, pulling the letter from his desk and ripping it open

"Draco,

I may have found a way so you don't have to marry the mudblood. There is a new transfer student at Hogwarts, correct?
Her father, Lucius, and I all went to school together. He's a good man. Not quite pure-blood, but we'll make do with a half-blood. They're also quite well-off, which makes up for their lack of status.
Her name is Alexandra, and I would love to have the Ricci's become a part of the Malfoy family.
I understand she's quite a clever girl also. I've been speaking to Luca; he would love to have us as a family.
I'm sure we could find our way around this little predicament with your current fiancé.
Please make this work."

"Mate. She wants you to get with the new girl? What the hell are you gonna write back? Your mother is terrifying." Blaise says, taking the letter and scanning it over, confirming what Draco just read aloud

"I'm obviously going to tell her no and that if she wants to keep me as a son, she just needs to accept that this is the way things are and let it go. I've told her I'm marrying Hermione. I don't understand why she can't get that through her head." Draco sighs, leaning back in his chair and closing his eyes

"She just doesn't want to 'ruin' the pureblood line. She's fine with a half-blood but not a muggle-born. It's quite silly, really. I mean...Granger is literally a war heroine...if it's money she's worried about, I'm sure Hermione has plenty of it." Blaise reasons

"I think it's just because Hermione was the cause of our family's little fall from grace and the downfall of good old Voldemort...and the reason my father is in Azkaban."

"Oh shit. Yeah, I forgot about that. Maybe you should say something in your letter about how your father...I don't know...deserved to go to Azkaban?" Blaise suggests

"Probably. Also, let's not forget that Hermione is the leader of S.P.E.W. ...you know how my mother is about house elves." Draco laughs, realizing how much Hermione has done that was totally against everything his mother believed in

"Wow. She's really building up a list of reasons for your mother to hate her." Blaise laughs, smacking Draco upside the head and causing him to fall out of his chair with a loud thump

"Was that honestly necessary, Blaise?" Draco asks, rubbing his side where he landed

"Absolutely...hey. Isn't it a little strange that you get your mother's letter and the letter from little Miss America on the same day...at the same time?" Blaise thinks

"I mean...it's probably just a coincidence. I don't think there's much to worry about. Plus, the cake from her mother was absolutely amazing. I should have used an engorgio charm on it before I took a bite to make it bigger." He sighed, still lying on the floor
