Hello Wattpadders,

Together, we're faced with a global health challenge, COVID-19, affecting millions of people —some more severely than others. Per the advice of the World Health Organization, all individuals in impacted countries are asked to practice social distancing, among other measures, to help curb the spread of the virus and 'flatten the curve'.

Here at Wattpad, we want to encourage and remind our 80 million-strong community of readers and writers to stay home and stay safe from COVID-19. This is a trying time for us all and we are all adjusting to what may be our new reality over the next few weeks (and potentially months).

The world is uncertain right now, but our commitment to you and our mission to entertain and connect the world through stories remains the same. We can assure you that Wattpad will remain a wonderful place to connect over stories with readers and writers from all over the world, from the safety of your home.

In saying so, our goal is not at all to underplay the severity of the current situation but to highlight that, even as a physically separated community, stories have the power to comfort us, entertain us, and— perhaps most important — make us feel less alone. We have heard from our community that you're looking for structure, support, and stimulation as you adapt to major changes in your normal routines.

We invite you to #ReadTogether on Wattpad, as a place of escape, to seek solace in the worlds of stories. We hope you'll find comfort, community, and positivity as you fight the good fight by staying home.

Over the next few weeks, we will be introducing new ways for you to discover and enjoy the diverse stories on our platform, explore new worlds, and connect virtually with other members of the community.

All the best, and please stay safe.

The Wattpad Team.
