When they arrived, they saw Max with her mother being interrogated by Hopper. Will shyly waved to her, but the redhead didn't answer. A bit farther, Constance was sitting on a chair, her left wrist handcuffed at it.

- "What happened!?" asked Joyce.

- "Billy punched Jane! And I'm not even allowed to see her!" told Constance with an angry tone.

- "What!? Why!?" frowned Jonathan.

- "Because I taught Dog how to defend Jane when she is in danger! They took him away to kill him!"

- "What!? No, they can't do that!"

- "Of course, they can! He attacked a human more dangerous than him, this is apparently fair!"

- "Let me talk to him."

Jonathan quickly walked away and cut the chief in his questioning:

- "You wanna kill Dog!?"

- "Um...I'm working right now, we'll talk later," said Hopper.

- "No, later it's too late if they decided to kill him!"

- "We're not killing him! We're questioning the people who were there, and we'll see if this dog is dangerous or not!"

- "He is not dangerous, ok!? I lived with him; he never showed any form of danger! He is their family, Jane loves Dog more than anything! You can't let that happen!"

- "(sighs with his mouth) If I have more questions, I'll call you, ok?"

- "Ok," said Max.

Hopper made a movement with his head to tell Jonathan to follow him outside. Max sat on her chair, feeling guilty for what happened.

- "Will, what do you think about giving some company to Max?" proposed Joyce.

- "Sure," smiled the young boy.

Will stood from his chair and joined his friend. Joyce didn't want Max to stay alone like that, even if her mother was with her, but she especially wanted to stay alone to talk with Constance who was furious about all of this.

- "Stop pulling your wrist like that! You're gonna hurt you!"

- "I don't give a fuck! I wanna see my sister!"

Joyce grabbed Constance's wrist and managed to force her to stop moving.

- "I know you're mad but hurting yourself is not gonna help!" said firmly the mother.

- "I told her to take a walk and this asshole almost killed her! Maybe she is dead now! Nobody told me how she is! Maybe she has a concussion or a cerebral hemorrhage and nobody told me!"

- "Ok, ok, take a breath. If Jane was in bad condition, they would have told you."

- "I'm not that sure! I should have been there!"

- "Constance, this is not your fault, it's not you who attacked her! Billy is known for his constant violence, he is unpredictable! You can't always be on her back to protect her. And, like that, they will investigate on him and certainly on Neil too. And I'm sure Jane is fine, she is tough, like her sister."

Constance quickly shrugged before looking down. Joyce had a soft smile. She took her hand on the young girl's shoulder before placing a small kiss on her temple to comfort her.

- "I don't know how those stickers can stick on your plaster cast," told Will.

- "They don't. I put superglue on them, I didn't want Jane to be disappointed," explained Max, holding tight her Super-bunny in her right hand.

- "When are you supposed to take it off?"

- "In one week."

- "Ok...Are you alright?"

- "I thought she was dead; she wasn't moving anymore! If I hadn't ran away, he would have never hit her!"

- "Max, this is not your fault! Billy is crazy, that's all!"

- "He had no right to hurt her like that! He went too far! I hope he'll go in jail, and Neil at the same time!"

- "Maxine! Don't talk like that about your family!" intervened Susan.

- "They're not my family! Jane is more my family than those assholes!"

The mother, remembering the situation, didn't insist. She preferred going a bit farther to let her daughter having her crisis alone.

An hour later, the chief freed Constance and allowed Joyce, Will, Max, and Constance to see Jane who was fine. The blood was coming from a cut coming from Billy's ring. When they entered the room, Max ran to Jane to take her in her arms.

- "I'm so sorry...I was so scared he hurt you..."

- "I'm fine, I have a cool bandage," smiled Jane.

- "I saw, a pink dog, it's really cool."

The redhead broke the hug and stepped back to let Constance hug her sister.

- "You'll have a bump," said the blonde teen.

- "Cool!"

Constance broke the hug and kissed the top of her head.

- "Look, the nurse gave me that! (shows a notebook with some colored pencils and a candy) Her name is Laura, she have three children and she paint the week-end. She gave me a candy because I'm her favorite patient," explained Jane.

- "I'm not surprised, you're everyone's favorite."

- "It mean I can have more candies?"

- "Yeah, I can buy you more candies, when we leave, we'll go to a shop, what do you think?"

- "Sound perfect!"

Jane began to show all of them the drawings she made before they arrived. Constance couldn't stop smiling, she was so relieved to see her like that, like if everything was normal. The young girl was cut by knocks at the door. Jonathan opened it to let Dog entering. The animal jumped on Jane's bed and licked her multiple time.

- "Dog! Where were you? I thought you were lost!"

- "He had to answer some questions too, he is a witness!" told Jonathan.

- "I hope you didn't lie, or you'll have problems," said Jane.

- "No, don't worry, I kept an eye on him."

Jane took her dog in her arms. Constance thanked Jonathan for saving Dog and bringing him back to Jane.

- "You're sure he is allowed to be here?" asked Joyce with a low voice.

- "I don't know, there was no one when I arrived," murmured Jonathan.

- "They don't need to know," mumbled Constance.

They nodded. A doctor checked Jane before allowing her to leave the hospital. Joyce proposed Constance, Jane, and Max to spend the night at home, to spend some moments together. They all accepted, happy to be all together.
