~Cody's Doubts~

After a long school day, the four of us agreed to meet up in the hallway. Tobias and David left the classroom arguing about something leaving Felix and me behind.

"So, about that date." I smiled up at Felix. He turned his head away embarrassed by my choice of words. "Raincheck? Unless we can somehow make going into the woods at night romantic."

"I can make anything romantic," Felix replied and looped his arm through mine. I grinned excited to see what Felix meant.

"Spanish is so hard..." David groaned as Felix and I exited the classroom. Felix let go of my arm and leaned against the wall pulling out his phone.

"If Spanish class was tough, math was killer." Tobi groaned.

"Our Spanish Teacher said we have a test." I piped up joining the conversation.

"We have a test?" Felix looked up from his phone surprised.

"Yeah, it's next week..." I trailed off dumbfounded by the fact Felix never listened but somehow managed to get decent grades.

"It's funny that she didn't take your phone," David mumbled. Felix shrugged in response and shoved his phone into his pocket. "What should we do now?" David glanced out the rain stricken window stating the obvious. "It's raining."

"We could go to the piano room." Felix grinned.

"That's a good idea!" My heart stuttered at the thought of hearing Felix play the piano.

Tobi nodded then looked out the window with a frown. "If it keeps raining like this we won't be able to investigate this afternoon."

"No! Please stop raining!" David clasped his hands together pleading with mother nature.

"Investigate?" A familiar voice questioned. All of us turned facing the voice. As expected Eric approached us with Cody tagging along behind him. "Is that what Felix has been texting me about non-stop?"

"Hey." Cody grinned giving us a small wave. David explained the entire investigation on our way to the piano room. Cody listened intently while Eric could barely sit still. Felix rolled his eyes making me laugh silently. Felix slid onto the piano bench motioning for me to sit next to him. Everyone else piled into desks.

Without note sheets, Felix began to play my favorite song. He'd been trying to teach it to me for the past month, but I'd already accepted I'd never be as good as he was. My eyes closed as I got lost in the sweet melody I swayed gently to the notes ignoring the chatter behind us. I opened my eyes to find Felix looking down at me lovingly. I reached up tapping him on the nose and began to sing right when he hit the chorus.

"Now I wish we never met 'Cause you're too hard to forget." I really wasn't that great at singing, but I still enjoyed it.

"While I'm cleaning up your mess. I know he's taking off your dress." Felix finished the line softly. I laughed causing him to stop playing abruptly. "What?! Was it bad?"

"N-no." I managed to stop laughing. "It was just cute. I didn't expect you to know the words."

"Of course I know the words. It's your favorite song." I blushed and pressed a note on the piano.

"You should teach me again sometime..." Felix opened his mouth to respond but was cut off when Cody spoke so all of us could hear.

"Is it really okay to go to a crime scene?" Cody bit his lip, his voice quivering slightly. Felix sighed, losing his train of thought and began playing again. I swung my legs over the piano bench turning so I was facing everyone else.

"If it's been long enough since the crime it shouldn't be a problem." Tobi rubbed his chin.

Eric crossed his arms and slouched back against his chair. "Doesn't matter we're going anyway."

"I'm not sure about this," Cody muttered.

"We could be messing with evidence they need," I spoke up siding with Cody. As much as I'd love for David to buy me stuff every week I wasn't trying to die anytime soon.

"I want to see if there's still blood there!" Eric raised a fist. Felix tensed beside me hitting a wrong note on the piano.

"Eric.." Cody paled.

"The scene should be cleaned up..." Tobi patted Cody's back, not sounding so sure himself.

"Maybe we can find something that shows it was a demon?" David glanced around the room deep in thought. Felix swung his legs over the piano bench facing everyone.

"We had something. But you broke it." Felix narrowed his eyes glaring at David.

"What?!" Eric turned to David.

"Oh yeah...the SD card..." David mumbled in embarrassment everyone's eyes on him.

Eric laughed. "That's why you need to keep copies of everything."

"What do you guys think?" David turned to Cody and Eric. "Do you think there might be something supernatural?"

"Well if there wasn't it would be boring, right? So let's hope there's something weird." Eric grinned, becoming more and more excited.

"What about you Cody?"

"Uh?" Cody tensed and gritted his teeth. "I...I-I...I don't know! I just think this is a terrible idea!" Oh man, poor Cody. "What if something bad happens? We could be involved in a really big mess...The police could tell us off and we could even...get arrested?..." Cody continued to spiral.

"Nothing's gonna happen," Eric reassured Cody.

"For real though." Cody looked down at his shoes becoming serious. "Don't you think going into the woods could be dangerous? The murder is still out there...Call me a coward, but I just can't see anything good coming out of this." I pushed myself off the piano bench and ran over to give Cody a hug.

"I'm with Cody on this." I squeezed him tighter. Felix nodded turning back around to face the piano.

"Me too." The room went silent.

"But!" Eric suddenly burst out. I jumped back pulling Cody with me.

"Jeez, don't scream." I pulled away from Cody and rustled his hair.

"You guys are worrying too much! You honestly believe the murder would show up when he's clearly outnumbered?"

David smiled. "True! Plus we won't be out there all night."

"Everything will be fine." Tobi rested a comforting hand on Cody's shoulder.

"You're easy to convince." Felix snarked, turning towards all of us. Despite everyone's words of comfort, I still wasn't sure how I felt about all of this. I still felt uneasy. I looked to Felix for comfort, but his face showed he felt the same. I bit my lip and silently prayed Eric and David were right, nothing bad would happen to us.
