Chapter 8 (Ember)

History of Magic with Professor Bins was extremely boring or so how all of the students seemed to be reacting to their ghostly professor.  Ember felt like she was dying of boredom in the class.  She was ready to learn spell and magic!  Not listen to an old ghost drone on about old history about wars.  She could've stayed in in Muggle school for that.    She decided to take a look around at what the other students were doing.  It was her first class with Hufflepuff and she didn't really know any of them.  Katherine wasn't sitting next to her for this class and she was seated next to a Hufflepuff girl with pin straight blonde hair and blue eyes.   She looked just as bored as everyone else was.  When the class was finally over Ember practically ran out of the room.  She was so ready to be free of the stuffy place. 

    "Not intereted in goblin rebellion, Fang?"  teased a Gryffindor boy.  Ember rolled her eyes at him.'

   "Like you were?  Atkinson?"  snapped Ember right back. She was not in the mood.  She wanted to just go to lunch.  She was starving.

   "Don't get your knickers in a twist, I'm just teasing."  Scoffed the boy as he stood in front of her.  Ember eyed him still slightly annoyed.  She was more focused on food at the moment than anything else.   

   "Doesn't matter.  Right now you are in between me and food.  So if you would, Atkinson, please move aside."  stated Ember.  The boy pouted slightly as he moved to the side.

   "She's so mean."  Ember heard a Hufflepuff boy hiss to another.

"I know, he was just trying to talk to her." whispered the other.  Ember narrowed her eyes as she looked over at the two whispering Hufflepuff first years which quickly shut them both up.

      "Ember!  Lets go get lunch!"  a cheerful voice said as Katherine came and looped arms with the annoyed witch.  The thought of food seemed to clear Ember's mind.   

    "Don't listen to those annoying Hufflepuffs.  They don't know what they are talking about."  commented Katherine as they walked towards the Gryffindor Common room to drop off their stuff.  On their way to the Great Hall they saw the Hufflepuff first year who had called her "mean" standing infront of the door to the Great Hall with a Gryffindor boy and Hazel Halls.

    "Come on Halls, you can come sit with us over at the Gryffindor table."  suggested the Gryffindor boy that  Ember didn't know.   Hazel's eyes looked over and made eye contact with Ember's for a moment as Hazel flashed her a quick smile.

    "Or we can sit at Hufflepuff."  smiled the Hufflepuff boy.

   "I think I'm going to sit with my one of my new friends for lunch, but I will sit you two for dinner, your pick on the table."  compromised Hazel.  The Gryffindor boy pouted a bit.

   "Deal, come on Jiminie."  smiled the Hufflepuff boy as he dragged the Gryffindor boy into the Hall.    Katherine caught Ember's attention. 

    "Did you see that Gryffindor boy who was with the Hufflepuff from before?"  she asked Ember.

    "Obviously."  replied Ember not all that interested.  She noticed that Hazel was walking in their direction as the pair were entering the Great Hall.

    "Well, the Gryffindor is Jimin Park, half-blood,  and the Hufflepuff from before is Taehyung Kim."  continued Katherine.

    "Hmm." was all Ember responded with, still not that interested.  

     "Hey Ember, Katherine, how was History of Magic?"  asked Hazel as the trio now walked into the Great Hall.  

     "Boring."  responded Katherine right away, not even giving Ember a chance to speak.   Hazel didn't seem very phased by this answer. 

    "It was hard to have before lunch when you are starving."  Ember added in. 

    "Well, you should go eat then.  I don't want to keep you from your food.   See you in Transfiguration!"  called Hazel as she began to walk away from the two Gryffindors.  Hazel went and sat down with some other Raveclaws at her table.

    "That was kinda weird."  Commented Katherine.  "She's kinda, perculiar..."  

     "She's just being nice."  replied Ember now slightly annoyed with Katherine's attitude.   "Let's just sit down and eat." 

    "If you say so."  Shrugged Katherine as the two headed towards the Gryffindor table.  

   When they arrived and started to eat Ember noticed that the Taehyung and Jimin were sitting across from them.

    "Are you two of Hazel's new friends?  I saw her talking to you guys."  asked Jimin to Katherine and Ember.  Taehyung noticed who Jimin was talking to and frowned slightly as he rememeber Ember from earlier.

    "Why yes, I'm assuming you are as well?"  Asked Katherine now batting her eyes at the older Gryffindor boy.   Ember couldn't help but roll her eyes at her dormmates behaviour.

   "I'm Katherine Summers, First Year, and you are?"  she asked as if she hadn't just told Ember who he was out in the halls.  

    "Park Jimin,Second Year, at your service, and you are...?"   he asked turning Ember.

    "Ember Fang, First Year."  replied Ember.  

"Well nice to meet you Ember." smiled Jimin widely, his eyes turning into little crescents, Ember wondered if he could even see through that smile.

   "So Jimin, what do you do around here for fun?" asked Katherine as she dreamily looked at him, causing Ember to want to gag a little bit at how obvious she was being.

    "Well, there is plenty of fun things to do, if you know where to find them."  he replied before taking a bite of his food.  "Right, Tae?"  he smirked.  A grin broke out on Taehyung's face.

   "Right."  he confirmed still smiling micheviously.
