She was poised with her back straight, hands on hips, and a flare that would have made King Kalen's balls throb with pain. Her cold dangerous eyes scanned around the table, and Hawk had to ask himself if that was truly his daughter, because he didn't recognize her anymore. Who was she really, he thought, sadden by the fact that there were too many changes too fast.
Violet's eyes fell on her father, and warmth filled them. "It's just me papa, I will always be your little girl!" She told him.
Hawks lips curved into a slow smile. She can read minds now too, he thought, as he took a deep breath of inhalation. She will never cease to amaze him.
Throwing her attention back to everyone else sitting at the round table, Violet prepared herself to give her speech in a way that the MacAlister men will not feel as if a "mere" woman had them by the balls. They were after all her family, and she adored them.
"We have much work to do, and we must start right away! I have already talked with the witches and they will muster up all their friends from near and far to fight with us." Violet said.
Silas shook his head, "How can we trust the witches? Dora and her clan have good in them, but the other witches whom we know nothing about are still witches!"
"He's right!" Thomas said, and all the other brothers nodded their head in agreement. Only William, Lucious, Stephan and Hawk sat quietly, and waited for Violet to correct them.
"First of all, Dora will not take kindly to the word "witches" they are now called enchantress's and I trust them. Dora has been nothing but kind, and loving to us, and she will give her life for us if she had to. Second of all, Dora would never call upon someone for help that would do us harm. She is smart and knows who's door to knock on for help." Violets word made sense, and the matter was settled. "I have invited to this meeting Abby, she will join us in a few minutes.."
"Great, another woman pulling us by the balls!" Daniel growled, and stood from his chair, "Why don't you woman go back in the kitchen where you belong, and make us our meal, and allow us to do the manly things!"
"That's enough Daniel!" William yelled, "sit down and listen. These "women" are more stronger, and powerful than all of us put together! Without them, we will all perish. The deadly forces that will come on Christmas Day to attack want to eliminate us all, wether we are immortal or not doesn't count during Armageddon, everyone is at risk on that day. These monsters have supersonic strength and weapons of mass destruction!"
Daniel sat back down in his chair, and tried to control his anger. Violet smiled coldly at him, and said, "you would do well to listen to William. You have no idea who Abby really is do you? She is a Valkyrie, and not just any Valkyrie, she is the last queen in line to rule, and that means that the powers she will posses will be so great that you would do well to be on her good side. Tis too dangerous to be on the other side of her."
At that moment the door swung open and Abby walked in followed by two servant girls who held trays with ale, freshly baked bread, and cheese. Placing the trays on the side table, they poured everyone a goblet of ale, and passed around the food. Violet sat quietly until the servants left the room, and closed the door behind them. She motioned for Abby to step forward, and noticed how Lucious's eyes shined bright with love.
"Hello," Abby said shyly, one would never guess how strong she is, and how lethal her powers are just by looking at her. Her petite body did nothing to signify her strength, and her shyness fooled one to believe that she was helpless.
Lucious's and Abby's eyes met and locked, and he almost fell of his chair with the force of the love that wrapped around his heart. This was the woman that he loved more than life itself, and he was very proud of the role she will play to save the world.
