I held Mark's hand tightly and rested my head on his arm. He fell asleep a while ago, but I stayed up, just thinking. I let go of his hand and wrapped my arm over him. I moved my head so my forehead rested against his neck.
It was currently 12:34 AM, and I'm glad Mark fell asleep before I did. He must've lost a lot of sleep while I was gone.
"Thanks for forgiving me." His scratchy and sleepy voice cooed.
He put his hand over my arm.
"Thanks for coming after me." I tightened my arm around him, holding him closer.
One Week Later
Mark and I settled on moving into his apartment together. Yesterday we finished setting everything up. I'm going to miss my family, but I'll be happy here.
Before we left, Mark secretly went out and got a ring. To me, it was perfect. It wasn't very bling but it had a red gem on it, and that made me happy.
As for Maisy..
I think he claimed Mark as his owner.
