Thirteen

We arrived back at my house about 40 to 45 minutes later. And it felt like one hell of a ride. I felt like I was living in one of those romantic-drama filled movies and let me tell you that it felt horrible. Tahani patted my back gently telling me that we were at my house, before unbuckling her seatbelt and locking the car door.

I was slightly nervous walking back into my house. I knew that I'd be in for a pretty long conversation. And I was 100% correct as I saw my mom making her way up to me.

'Oh hey there girls, I thought you were sleeping over at Sean's today. I wasn't expecting you guys back home so soon. Did you forget something?' My mom asked curiously.

'Um-we, err-no-' I started stuttering before being cut off by Tahani.

'Let's just say that things didn't go exactly to plan and stuff happened'. I was so grateful for her at that exact time. Mental Note: have a girls night with T for helping me out.

'Oh really, do you wanna talk about it dear' My mom asked me while taking a seat at the marble counter.

'Umm- I mean, I guess' I said slightly nervously.

And like I said before, since the world hates me, Devon walked straight in. 

'Hey guys, what brings you back home?'

'Oh, K and T, were just about to tell me. Something went down at Sean's house. Sit down Devon, let's hear her out' my mom explained. Why does she have such a big mouth?

'Oh what happened' Devon asked, taking a drink from the fridge.

'Okay, but just don't react badly, okay?' I said taking in a deep breath.

'Well, while we were at Sean's house, we kinda all got into a fight, but at the end it pretty much just turned into a fight between me and Sean and yeah' I said biting my lips.

'Oh sweetie, Is that it?, maybe you should talk to him? Hear him out?' My mom questioned.

'I did and that didn't end up going well. Turns out tha-um, that Sean neverreallywantedtobemyfriend' I said as fast as possible.

'Hold up, talk slower K, I can't understand' Devon said throwing the bottle into the bin. Damn. He sure was thirsty.

' I said that it turns out that Sean never really wanted to be my friend' I said close to a shout.

At this realisation, everyone zipped their mouths shut as there eyes did all the talking. Devon's eyes were full of anger, oh I'm gonna kill him. Tahani's eyes were clouded with worry, are you alright? And my mom's eyes, they were a mix of slight anger and comfort, how could he say such a thing? But it'll be alright Kaycee. 

Tears were forming in my eyes as I looked at each person closely until I couldn't take it anymore and ran upstairs to my room.i heard footsteps following close behind but I didn't lock the door knowing that if Devon found out, he'd just end up kicking it down. And then my room would be doorless. So no thank you,

Lying on my bed and crying into my pillows, I felt a strong hand rubbing soothingly over the small of my back. 

'I'm going to kill him, I swear' Devon spoke. 'Who does he think he is playing with my little sisters feelings'.

At the mention of 'feelings', I started crying further into my comforter.

'Why do I have a felling that this is not just about that? Is there something you're  not telling us K?' My mom asked curiously. Screw her mother knowing wisdom.
