Third person’s POV:

The world around her was a mystical haze, showing various patterns being drawn towards her vision which was all she could see as her soul drifted off to somewhere.

The temperature around her began attaining a warmer level as an uninvited commotion became part of her existence. She fought the unimaginable force which became stronger with each passing second until it over powered her.

Seohyun wheezed a massive breath as the cold air filled her lungs, her eyes demanding to pop out of her sockets any moment as she lay on a soft surface, confounded.

Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion when she tried to adjust her blurred vision, the only person face to face with her became more vivid and there was nothing in this world that could convince her that this was real.

“Bang Chan…” she whispered while gasping and staring at the apprehensive boy leaping closer to her.

She slowly tilted her head to see the same room with widened inscrutable orbs.

It was the same room she was going to break up with Bang Chan in, to break the truth to him, that she lost feelings for him and wanted to end their relationship. That lead ways for a massive tornado of questions, she was confused how this was even humanely possible when they both were already dead.

“Are you alright?” he asked worriedly while softly nudging the side of her arms previously in an attempt to wake her up, “How many times have I told you to double knot your laces?”

That was an impulse that triggered Seohyun into crying when the unbelievable happened.

“You’re alive… Oh my God, n-nothing happened to you,” she gasped while her now-scarlet eyes filled to the brim and she hugged the boy while throwing arms around his neck, pulling him tightly.

His lips tugged downwards at the corners when he elicited her abrupt action, seemingly perplexed by her outbreak as he gently placed a hand behind her head to support it.

“Seo…you hit your head, I didn’t,” he muttered, still confused what got over Seohyun while she wept in his arms, her minute sobs audible.

“I thought I lost you…but you’re alright,” she chuckled amidst of her cries, sniffling.

Bang Chan could tell that she was laughing as well as crying because that was something Seohyun did every time to cloak the severity of the situation. He was used to it now, but her condition was so vulnerable, he dared not to question her since it could make things worse.

So Bang Chan just palmed the small of her back adoringly like he always would “Shh…I’m here now. Nothing happened to me. It was just a bad dream, shh shh,”

~

Bang Chan comforted Seohyun the time they were together, he would smile at her like nothing happened and she would force a smile but sigh right after.

He offered to take her somewhere peaceful, to give her space to think about her thoughts so that she would feel easy enough to say what was bothering her.

Seohyun just wanted to kick the bad dream out of her system before it ate her bit by bit and for that purpose, the couple found themselves at a café in Seoul where the soft Karaoke clouded the room.

Feeling the cold breezes emerging from the air conditioner, she grazed her skin to ease the goose bumps until the cold reminded her of the last part of her appalling dream.

The suicide attempt

Bang Chan was sitting right beside her on one of the chairs rather than up front, he could see her struggle while Seohyun drowned in her thoughts as if she were traumatized, her breathing becoming uneven as she sniffled involuntarily.

“Seohyun…you wanna talk?” he offered while tilting his gaze to meet Seohyun in an extremely concerned manner, something that made her heart warm.

The frown on her face doubled and she was in tears as Bang Chan’s eyes bulged at the girl who was taken by surprise.

“Hey, what’s wrong Seohyun? You’ve been like this since we came…it’s worrying me,” he asked, lowering his tone while stroking her back gently.

She dug her face into her palms and began crying even more, her muffled sobs were short and quiet but she was hiccupping as soon as she got reminded of the bitter remains of the dream, from losing Bang Chan to committing suicide herself.

Bang Chan’s mouth opened in guilt and he immediately took her in his embrace as she cried openly while burying her face in his chest. He mentally cursed himself for making her cry again.

“I thought…I lost you” she hiccupped while letting the unclear syllables roll out of her mouth as Bang Chan gaped at the table ahead and nodded, trying to decipher her gibberish.

He sighed, “You just had a bad dream, look at me. I’m absolutely fine,” he cheekily smiled at her as she pulled away and looked at him, sniffing for a moment but then broke down again, colliding with his chest as Bang Chan winced a little.

After a few minutes of whimpering, she found the courage to hastily narrate the dream she saw, which shook her insides leading her breathless once again as she told him every tiny detail.

“And then you died…” her voice cracked while saying that part out as Bang Chan was eagerly listening with knitted eyebrows, witnessing her cry miserably.

“Why are you crying when it was just a dream, shouldn’t you be happy?” he explained, snickering after a pause.

“What i-if it all happens…? The dream, it comes…true,” she scowled while curling her fingers into a fist and glared at the roof, sighing.

“Don’t worry. Younghoon already has a girlfriend…OW” he playfully chuckled before Seohyun smacked his arm.

“Bang Chan I’m serious…”

“Well the good thing is that we could win the Rookie of the year award,” he laughed this time while Seohyun glared at him.

“Please take me seriously,” she requested with pleading eyes since her fragile state wasn’t up for any jokes.

He hummed in response while putting a fist under his chin and nodded like he was thinking about something severe while avoiding eye contact.

“You’re right…I should be serious,” he lowly said while looking up, his gaze locked with Seohyun’s hurting orbs, “I should take this seriously…considering the short time I have, I should do stuff that I haven’t done before,” he raised an eyebrow at her while smirking.

She looked at him with disdain and punched his arm, “Bang Chan! You pervert!” she yelled at him for not being serious as usual until breaking down in tears.

Bang Chan was laughing for a moment while protecting himself from the wrath of Kim Seohyun but when he saw her break down for the nth time, he figured being serious for once.

He placed a finger under her chin and turned her to look at him as she sniffed but managed to lock eyes with him anyways. His stare was very intimate and warming to her, one of the best ones she’d ever seen which made her weak in the knees.

He pressed his lips together and smiled at her ever so welcomingly, “Nothing like that is ever gonna happen, okay? I’m always gonna be by your side Seohyun. I’m not gonna let your feelings die out for me, ever. Even if the feelings fade away…” he slowed down the pace of his speech as Seohyun was looking at his soul pierce through his golden words.

“Then…I’m gonna make sure you regain those feelings,” he smirked at her as she smiled this time, feeling at ease all of a sudden. “I love you Seohyun…I’ll make sure we never have to see a day of getting parted, okay?” he caressed the side of her tear stained cheek with his thumb.

She knew this was all true; her imagination was not so wild to imagine such a beautiful person uttering the most heartwarming words on this planet. She snickered at the thought of her present being so blessed; she thanked God for giving her a second chance into reconsidering her feelings for the most perfect guy existing.

The distance between the couple was inevitably close as Bang Chan stared at her slightly parted lips and they both moved nearer to each other, ultimately joining their lips into a soft affectionate kiss.

Their lips moved in perfect harmony with each other, utilizing every moment that was to be used by staying closer.

Seohyun ran her fingers through Bang Chan’s hair and tugged him closer to her, she could feel his jaws tense while they shared the short flash of love and then pulled back, pecking his lips one more time while giggling.

They gasped for air as Bang Chan chuckled at her demure state, how she’d been blushing after the kiss, it was true, she did love him and it wasn’t impulsiveness.

“I guess this counts for all the time I had…” he muttered while scratching the nape of his neck.

Seohyun looked at him in downright confusion, her mind resisting to be thrown into the heinous possibilities.

“I gotta fade away now…and you have got to wake up,”

As Bang Chan said those words, Seohyun’s heart felt like it had been smacked with a stone. She quivered while seating and her eyes filled with horror and pain; tears started surfacing the corners as she, once again, lost the urge to live when she realized that this was part of the dream.

“No.” She gasped as her breathing became uneven and she pressed her eyelids together, not wanting to see Bang Chan fade away right in front of her, she couldn’t lose him another time.

It was hardly fair for her and her existence.

Tears forced to spill out of the corners of her wide orbs as she was sobbing once again.

“HEY I’M SORRY. I WAS KIDDING HAHAH, SEOHYUN-AH I WAS JUST JOKING HEY!” he playfully chortled while forcing his loud screeching laugh inside and cupped her jaws.

She refused to open her eyes at first, afraid that it wouldn’t be a joke but when she slowly cleared her vision, she could see a ridiculous Bang Chan sniggering at her and that got her pissed.

Seohyun kept complaining and nagging after that and Bang Chan apologized to her multiple times without resisting the urge to laugh at her, something that got her filled with anguish again.

Spending a fruitful time in the café, the couple decided to leave while continuing the streak of blaming and apologizing, but whatever it was, it was normal as long as they were in love.

Happily, Bang Chan and Seohyun continued with their beautiful tie, made it stronger with every go and this dream, it just made Seohyun love Bang Chan even more because you seldom realize someone’s importance unless they go far away from you. She was very lucky that she realized it earlier.

This story tells you that sometimes, God gives you second chances; it’s not up to us how we get them. For Seohyun, her second chance came as a tragic dream but one must always realize the after math of it, she ended up not sundering from Bang Chan in the end which proves the painful dream to be totally worth her life and time.

If God is giving you a second chance, use it wisely as he blesses the lucky ones only.

Remember, the end is just the beginning…
