FORTY TWO

Monique's POV

When I woke up from my nap, the sun was already setting in the horizon, painting the sky red, orange and yellow. I sat up from my bed and looked around the room. "Haechan?"

"Yes?" I turned my gaze to the balcony and saw him getting inside. He was left in his white shirt and pants, barefoot. The shirt was also tucked inside his pants. He gave me a smile.

"What time is it?" I asked while rubbing my hands on my eyes. "Five thirty-two. You skipped lunch." He said and sat beside me on the bed. He looked handsome in his outfit and his hair was still the same.

I bit my lower lip when I heard my stomach growl hungrily. "You could say that again." He chuckled softly and damn, that made my insides twist and turn. "Are you feeling better?" He asked.

I nodded and smiled at him. "Yeah, thanks to you." I replied and I felt myself blush because of that. He stood up and held out his hand. "Dorothy made the kitchen staff cook early dinner after knowing what happened to you. Also, there's a visitor coming. Come on."

I took his hand and he pulled me up. He went to wear his shoes again and we walked to the dining room. When we got there, the foods were already served and the workers went to their seats.

Haechan and I sat on the same spot where we had our dinner last night. "Oh, Monique!" I gave Dorothy a smile. "I'm so sorry about what happened to you. Ugh, those witches. Don't you think we should put them in their own realm already, Ma'am?" She asked Ozma.

"We can't, Dorothy. Witches might be a nuisance but they make Oz, Oz. If they have gone too far, please tell me and I will handle the situation. And Monique, I apologize for their unacceptable behaviors." Queen Ozma said and looked at me apologetically.

I took a bite of my steak and waved my hand. "It's alright, Your Highness. Haechan got the chance to catch me." I said and glanced at the boy beside me. He was looking down on his food, his face slightly red.

Our heads turned near the door when a trumpet was blowed. "Everyone! Please welcome Queen Rapunzel and King Flynn's son..!" As the announcer said that, I saw Haechan get stiff. "Haechan, are you okay?" I asked and placed a hand on his back.

"Monique—"

"Prince Jaehyun!"

Two guards opened the doors and standing there was a man with brown hair, wearing a royal aqua suit that perfectly fits him. It looks like the outfit was made for him.

He strided inside the dining room and we clapped for him. The Jaehyun guy thanked us and when the applause subsided, Haechan stood up, staring at him.

Everyone looked at him, including the Jaehyun guy. My eyebrows furrowed when his name also sounded familiar. Wait..!

"Cubby?" Haechan asked breathlessly. Jaehyun's eyes widened in shock. "Tootles?" I heard Haechan laugh and he immediately ran towards Jaehyun, who he just called Cubby.

"Jaehyun hyung!" He jumped on him and the both of them laughed. "What did just happen?" I looked at Dorothy and Ozma who were so confused with what's happening.

"Reunion of two Lost Boys, Cubby and Tootles," I said in a loud voice so everyone could hear. They cooed at the small reunion when the doors opened once again, revealing Doyoung.

"My God. Cubby?" Jaehyun pulled away from Haechan and looked at the bunny-smiling guy. "Nibs!" Doyoung rushed to them and the three of them hugged. I smiled when I saw how Haechan looked. I'm glad he was reunited with the both of them.

Jaehyun whispered something to the two before backing away. He walked near Queen Ozma and bowed. "Good evening, Your Highness. I did come for dinner but—" She nodded politely. "You can take your time with your friends, Jaehyun."

He smiled gratefully at her. "Thank you, Your Highness," He bowed to her, including Dorothy. "Princess," He turned to me, gave a smile and winked. I smiled back and he left with Haechan and Doyoung.

I was going to go back on eating my dish when I heard Haechan say, "Wait!" I felt someone grab my left arm and of course, it was him. His eyes were kind of teary and he has that kind grin on his lips.

"Be back. I'll see you in my dreams." He pecked my forehead and went to his friends. They immediately exited the room with happy noises coming from their mouths.

My face heated up when he said the last sentence. I caught Dorothy and Queen Ozma giving me that look and I turned my gaze away from them to continue eating my food in less embarrassment.

I only ate two scoops of ice cream when dessert was served and after that, I went back to our room. I saw a night gown lying on my bed so I took it, washed up and changed into the clothes.

I tied my hair into a messy bun and walked towards the balcony to see if Haechan and his friends were in the garden. I was right when I heard them teasing Haechan, lightly slapping his back and flicking his ear.

"We know you like her, Haechanie~."

"You don't need to deny it."

I don't know why but I came to think that they are teasing him with Dorothy. I sighed. There goes that strange feeling again. I just smiled, knowing Haechan saw two of his older brothers after years of being separated.

I yawned and realized I was still tired because of what happened today. I went inside the room and slid under the covers to sleep.

Haechan's POV

Jaehyun, Doyoung hyung and I left the dining room smiling and patting each other's backs. I feel so happy to see them again and the three of us all met here in Oz. Fate did bring us back together.

"I'm guessing you knew it was me because I'm Rapunzel and Flynn's son?" Jaehyun asked me with a teasing voice. I nodded, chuckling. "Obviously. And you got thinner!" I exclaimed.

He laughed and raised his shirt, showing the abs he got throughout the years. Doyoung cackled. "How 'bout you, Toot? Still got that one-pack chocolate abs? I mean ab?" They started teasing me this time.

"You should probably get five more to impress your girl. What's her name?" Jaehyun hyung asked and nudged me with his elbow. I rolled my eyes. "Guys, she's just a friend."

"Is she?" I face-palmed when they started to joke. "Jae, her name is Monique and please, the way she told me about Haechan is," Doyoung motioned his hands like he was doing a chef's kiss.

"I know you're still young, Tootles, but I can already sense and see the future of you and that girl." Jaehyun remarked rather emotionally. My God, they're acting way immature than me.

"Guys, I like her as a friend—" Before I can finish, they started to play with my hair and pinch my cheeks. "We know you like her, Haechanie~."

"You don't need to deny it." I pushed them away and brushed my hair using my hand. "I am not denying anything." I said but they still didn't believe me.

I didn't believe myself either.

sorry for the short chapter ><. so you won't get confused who lost boy is who, refer to the ones in the disney animated version (picture at the very top). doyoung is the one wearing a bunny costume, jaehyun is the chubby one and haechan is the shortest with a skunk costume. (they got attractive, didn't they-)
