you smiled as you made your way to your best friends apartment building. spencer had been your best friend for years ever since you met him while he was on a fbi case a few years ago.

you'd never tell him but you had a small crush on him. his nerdy know it all yet humble and sweet personality was just your type.

you rang his apartment bell and waiting a minute or so before he let you in when you entered his place a smile quickly formed on you're face. you could see that he'd been cooking a meal for the two of you to enjoy.

"spence" you laughed lightly you didn't have to cook "i would've been fine just ordering a pizza" he looked at you a smiled "i wanted to cook" you hugged him before taking a seat on the couch in the living area.

"spence where's the controller for the tv?" you asked as he continued to make the food. "in my bedroom on the nightstand" he said. you nodded making your way to his room.

you grabbed the controller nothing a small note taped in the nightstand next to where the controller was. you didn't want to snoop but you instinctively read the note.

'ask y/n out on a date today' it read. you giggled smiling as you made your way back to the living area. you turned on the tv and put on stranger things.

a few minutes later spencer told you the food was done. you sat down at the table as spencer set the food in front of you and a plate at his seat. "this looks amazing spence" you complimented.

"thank you" he sat in his seat next to you. "so uh y/n i was wondering if yo-" you cut him off. "of course i'd love to go on a date with you spence" you giggled as he sat in shock for a moment.

"how'd you know" he asked curious as to how you knew what he would be asking. "i saw the note on the night stand" you responded shrugging. "oh" was all he said as he continued to eat his food.

"spence" you said, and he turned to look at you. "yes y/n/n" you smiled moving closer to him as he sat there clueless to what was happening. "i like you" you smiled before you moved even closer softly planting a kiss on his lips.

he smiled as you pulled away. "i-i like you too" he stuttered out before he leaned over toward you and placed a kiss to your lips just as you did to his moments before.

and so you two spent the night sharing kisses planning your date watching stranger things and cuddling.

spencer reid was no longer your best friend. but the one who you wanted to be with for the rest of your life and he felt the exact same way.
