I let out a sigh as I stumbled in the door, peeling my soaking jacket off and hanging it next to the door, "I'm cold, I'm tired, and I'm going to kill one of you unless someone brings me coffee."

McCree hopped to his feet and went to the kitchen to do just that, and Gabe was at my side, an arm wrapped around me, "Jesus... Genji, help me get her down to Moira."

"Whoa, what for? I'm a little cold but other than that I'm fine."

Gabe raised his brows, "You got shot... bullet might have shattered your collarbone and you don't feel it?"

"It's freezing rain outside and most of me is numb, so no, I didn't feel it."

I'm 90% sure I blacked out after that, because I didn't remember what happened between the time I walked in the door, to now, which had me laying in a hospital bed in the basement, and Moira hunched over her desk in the corner. She came over, and put a small patch of tape over the IV going into my forearm, "I warned Gabriel not to send you out on that mission alone."

I smiled, "I'm sure he regrets it. Where's my coffee?"

She handed it to me, warning me that the sides were hot, as McCree had brought it down just a moment ago. I took a sip, and set it down. McCree was a damn good shot, but he couldn't make coffee for the life of him. My right arm was in a sling, and Moira said that Gabe was right, and my collarbone had been shattered. I just hoped I hadn't gotten blood on my car seat. I heard the door to the basement open, and as Gabe slipped in, Moira slipped out. He shut the door behind him, and sighed, coming over to the bed, "How are you feeling?"

I smiled, "Better now that you're here. Sit down and hang out with me. Just for a while."

He chuckled, pulling a chair up next to the bed, "You look like shit."

"So do you, and you weren't even shot."

The smile on his face went away, and he cleared his throat roughly, "I guess it's my fault you're even down here, huh? I should have thought before sending you out alone..." He kept his eyes on the ground and the room was deathly silent for a moment.

I looked to him, worried, "Are you okay?"

"As okay as I can be under the given circumstances."

"So not at all?"

"Not even close."

"Well what's wrong?"

He leaned back in his chair, running his fingers through his hair and tugging gently, "I can't take seeing you get hurt. It rips my heart into pieces and then you sow it up, only for the cycle to repeat."

"You said you didn't have a heart."

"I didn't. Not until I met you."

I grabbed his hand with my good arm, and kissed his knuckles. He cupped my jaw and stood up, kissing my forehead, "I love you, you know that?"

"I love you too. But... Why did you send me out alone?"

He sighed, "McCree and Genji were out on a mission, Moira chipped a nail and refused to leave, and I ran a job parallel to yours. I figured you could handle yourself."

"Did I not?"

"You got shot."

"Yeah but I killed each of the bastards I was supposed to."

He smiled, "I love you. Now you need rest, so go to sleep."

"I don't wanna. Tell McCree and Genji to come down here. I'm up for a game of poker." I winked, "When we're alone, we can even play it strip."

He smiled, "Yeah, I'd like that. How about this: You take a nap, maybe for an hour or two, then I'll send the boys down for a quick game, then we'll get you off this old mattress and up to your bed. Does that work?"

I smiled a little, "Yeah. That works."
