Chapter 42

Luna's pov

"Luna, Luna wake up" An angelic voice stirred me awake

"Mmhm" I mumbled

"She's awake" the voice said, a noise was heard. The harsh light made me finally open my eyes

"Who the fuck is shining the sun in my eyes" I groaned, the light disappeared and was replace with Taylor and Aelia hanging over my face

"Is this heaven?" I questioned

"Oh please, hell is better" Taylor said walking away to grab a bottle water

"Gay facts" get it? Straight? Because we don't do straight here

I chuckled to myself and glanced at the perfect human that leaned against my bed. Her head hung low while she fidgeted with her fingers

"Hi" I whispered, she remained silent

"You're not gonna talk to me?" I questioned

"I don't know what to say" she mumbled

"How about you start with what happened, why am I at home in bed when the last thing I remembered was passing out in school?" I asked.

"There was no earthquake, no one knows where it came from or why it didn't hit anywhere else. It just shook the school, luckily everyone made it out safe but I think Maddy hit her head pretty hard. She's got this crazy amnesia case" Aelia said. I wanted to smile so bad but I contained it

"But how am I here?" I questioned, the last I remembered was a drain.

Aelia's pov

Her face, her smile, her touch, her everything. I needed it.
It hasn't been a fucking day and I'm going crazy.

I walked back into class after Luna and I's interesting argument. My heart ached, I wanted to desperately to attach our lips. I needed her arms around me. Luckily I had some sort of self control, it hurt even more when she lied to my face. I felt too drained to feel anything right now. I haven't slept all night.

She knew what she was doing with lex and she got caught. The least you can do is be honest with me.

Was I wrong to feel like I cheated on?
It's stupid. We aren't together but it felt like we were. We just fit so perfectly together, we didn't need a label. We just knew.

I returned back to my seat with my head hung low, my emotions felt scattered. I felt scattered.

"Miss Green, was there any problem?" Miss Sylvester asked

"Um, no, just a minor cold"

"Good, now if you'll pay attention. I was just explaining how the-"

She was interupted when the class lights flickered, I furrowed my brows. The lights continued to flicker until it just stopped

"The hell was that?" someone said from across the room

"Im sure it was a power shortage-"

"AHHH" the room was filled with screams, the lights in the ceiling all shattered one by one. The flakes dropped onto the heads of students below it

"Everyone calm down, it's definitely a power problem" Miss Sylvester said

Everyone remained quiet, the entire hallways was silent. The sound of heavy, anxious breathing was only heard.
