Chapter 26

We ran.

A lot, actually. We ran from the Canadian border, down to the humid forests of California. I wasn’t exactly sure where, but that’s where the rest of the pack was waiting for us.

Apparently, it was our home.

I was slightly angry at Will because he didn’t want to fight. I mean, that’s what we were supposed to do. The strongest pack in North America, and we weren’t going to take down a rouge army?

You can say we were useless at this point.

I had seen Derek a few times, but we had taken separate paths, kind of okay with each other.

So anyway, back to the actual point of us running.

The forests changed as we ran through the states, and it took us about 3 days of constant running to “escape” the rouges.

I wasn’t exactly happy with this arrangement, but I was already tired of trying to voice my opinion.

As the rest of the crowd slowed down, I assumed we were getting closer to our destination because the strong scent of more wolves hit my nose.

Everyone sensed it, their ears sticking up straight as their hearts began beating.

After all, they were finally home.

What I saw though, was not what I had expected.

I thought this place would look something like a camp, but as we ran out into the clearing, my eyes widened.

The glistening green grass was freshly cut, hundreds of large different colored homes were placed in multiple places, and large groups of people stood around.

Some of them were happily chatting with each other, some tending to their gardens, and the children were playing in what looked like a park in the center.
