"Do my eyes deceive me or is it really Kim Namjoon?!" Namjoon heard a jovial voice call out as he had bid the artist goodbye.

Turning to face the source, his face brightens up with recognition and a gleeful smile as he rushed to hug the person, "Kayee? What are you doing here bud? I thought you were still on the mainland!" Namjoon rushed to his college buddy and hugged h...

Turning to face the source, his face brightens up with recognition and a gleeful smile as he rushed to hug the person, "Kayee? What are you doing here bud? I thought you were still on the mainland!" Namjoon rushed to his college buddy and hugged him with excitement, "It's been months since I last saw you and after your last movie, I couldn't even find any news about you!"

"It was either getting off-grid or take credit for the sleazy film that the producer wanted. I was not satisfied with how the movie came out and you should have seen the number of scenes they cut out... I'm never going to work on a movie that takes the word of a producer over the director. I don't even know why they hired me!"

Namjoon eyed the guy fondly as he complained. It really was a good thing that they met. Namjoon being busy with his career, seemed to have lost contact with many of his friends but he was glad that no amount of time and distance can separate Kayee from him.

They had shared a dorm in their college years and got along extremely well.

Kayee was an exchange student from mainland China. From being awkward roommates, Namjoon and he came a long way.

They were together when they had doubts about their career choice. Originally both were giddy about their business major, writing and filmmaking was just a hobby then.

When they realised their true calling, Namjoon and Kayee had each other's back.

It wasn't easy because it was almost graduation when they realized that they didn't want to do it anymore. They were both hesitant and scared to confide in the other but slowly they shared their fears and their true desires.

They were there to talk to their parents, to explain their real passion. They supported each other because explaining to your parents that you didn't want to graduate but wanted to something completely different was quite a feat.

That's how one became a director and the other an author.

"I thought of calling you but then I decided against it. I had called Jinyoung first and when he said you'd be here, I came to surprise you!" Kayee said as he sipped some wine and after gulping down a bit hastily, he eagerly asked, "I know that he's a great editor and he was the one who got you published but I still can't believe he still didn't run away."
