LORELEI

LOKI WAS no doubt disappointed by the recent developments. Another mystery was presented to him by a not yet identified culprit.

But thanks to Inspector Double M, he could no longer meddle in police matters. During Inspector Estrada's term as police chief, he could enter any crime scene whenever he wanted and offered his assistance for free.

Thus he became extremely frustrated. He tried to entertain himself by playing Criminal Case as a substitute, but he wasn't satisfied. A case in a game wouldn't be enough to satiate his hunger for something to solve. Jamie attempted to soothe him, but to no avail.

A case. That's what he needed. Initially he would have rejected it because of how absurd it sounded. But he had no choice at the moment.

Rosetta rejoiced when I told her that we were willing to accept her case. If only our relationship with the police wasn't strained, she would be right. Loki had no taste for cases that involved the supernatural.

This was the only day when we had nothing on our schedule.

Alistair brought his car so we wouldn't have any problem with the transportation. Fastening my seatbelt, I sat on the passenger's seat while Loki, Jamie and Rosie sat at the back.

Our president explained to me the reason why he made such decision, and I got his point.

"So we are gonna investigate if there's a ghost in a certain subdivision?" Al glanced at Rosetta through the rearview mirror. "That's quite refreshing.

"If we count the ghost in the abandoned school building that Loki and I solved, this case is going to be the second one," I commented, watching the busy streets of the city through the window. Come to think of it, Rosie also referred that case to our club. I could still remember that incident like the back of my hand. Little did we know that we already met the enigmatic Moriarty inside that forsaken building.
