Chapter 41, part 2
Xenia Pov
It must have been sometime past midnight because I could clearly see the moon in its full glory. Xander had left to check around the cave to make sure that we were alone and undisturbed. I tried to occupy myself with anything other than the real matter on our hands but his words were being repeated in my head like a broken record. I mean seriously why didn’t anyone tell me before? Prepare me for this, right now I am going to go through something I had no idea about!
I heard some rustling sounds and as soon as I turned my head I saw Xander entering our cave. The minute his eyes fell on me I involuntarily flinched from his sharp gaze which must have really hurt him because I could sense his body stiffening as he came towards me.
‘You should rest; I don’t think you’ll go through your shift tonight. It’s too late for you to shift’ he said detachedly but I could somehow sense he was still hurt by my behavior towards him.
As I tried to sleep I heard him…
“Why haven’t you eaten your food yet?” He demanded with building rage in his voice. I knew he thought that I thought of him as a beast but in reality I knew he was just as lost as me if not more...
‘I didn’t feel like having any of it’ I said truthfully.
He was silent for a few moments… and after some time which felt like eternity…
‘Do you want me to get you something else?’ he asked hesitantly. MY eyes flew to his and the moment our eyes connected I couldn’t break off our connection. I felt mesmerized and I heard a low growl erupt from his chest yet I heeded it no attention and soon his eyes were being invaded by a bright violet color. It seemed as if black and violet were dancing around each other and the moment their dance became frenzy did I get my first taste of true pain. A pain so sharp and strong hit me that it just knocked my breath away...
“AGHHHHHHHH!!!!” I screamed at the top of my lungs just wanting, hoping, and begging for my pain to stop. The minute my second scream cut through the air Xander shifted into Xyon and he was beside me in a second.
“I am here baby, shh, babe, shh, it’s okay sweetheart I am here” Xyon cooed in my ear as he hugged me closely to his body but all I could hear were the strong tearing sounds my muscles were making due to being subjected to the immense pain of tearing and growing into a shape they have never ever had the curtsey of knowing before.
“XYON!” I screamed again and again “please make it stop” I said in between sobs.
“Oh babe I wish I could, I wish I could take away all your pain, (he shifted me in his arms to face me and his face was contorted in so much pain that I was sure he wouldn’t have felt the pain if it was he going through it, but somehow seeing his mate suffering and without having the ability to do anything and watching her helplessly was literally killing him) Babe, you have to just go through it, just this once babe, I promise, and I am here, I won’t leave you, you won’t go through this alone” he said frantically as he was holding me in his arms and rubbing soothing circles on my back, but all that did was invigorate my suffering and torment all over. My body was throbbing with an acute amount of pain and ache that was not meant to be tolerated by any living being!
And then when I thought this couldn’t get any worse…
I heard a sound so disgusting and frightening that I was surprised I didn’t pass out, it was the sound of my bones breaking!
“AGHHHHHHHHHHH” I screamed! And rolled out of Xyon’s arms
“XYON” I screamed again…
“Kill me already” I screeched, as I knew this was worse than what death must feel like for right now every single bone in my body had broken into a million pieces over and over again and they were growing into shapes and forms not meant to be in my body!
In the midst of all my suffering I caught sight of Xyon who was panting beside me and I saw him loose his entire calm attitude as he himself was going through some changes? But I knew he was holding himself for me! He forced his change to stop to be here for me, but no matter what, I was going through hell and there was nothing anyone could do to stop it.
“X-Xyon, b-baby don’t s-stop y-your s-shift” I barely let these words fall from my mouth when I felt a shooting pain start all anew as my bones were popping in and out of places and my muscles were torn open.
“AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!”
I no longer could manage anything and what happened next was beyond my control…
I saw Xyon trying to stop his shift long enough to comfort me, but right now the beast that was in hibernation for so long was taking control over my body and she would not listen to any of it and had only one target and that target was in front of her!

Octavius Pov
“They are here!” Xavier said as he found out the hiding spot of Xander. It has been three days straight since we started looking for Xander (or might I say his beast) and Xenia. We are not sure what happened to them, or even if they made it through.
I just hoped that Xyon was somehow present somewhere in the deep abyss of his Amarok so as to not hurt his mate. But who was I kidding, I had the facts and facts don’t lie, Xander had attacked his pack members only to reach Xenia to attack and kill her.
It felt as if her death held the answer to some secret unknown only to the beast attacking the poor girl who was willing to do anything just to make sure that her mate was once again safe and sound with her only to be rewarded by the vicious attack of the animal that had awoken instead of her mate.
“Listen, I don’t want anyone to attack till you hear my command, but if any of you were certain that our Luna was in danger, you are to attack without waiting for my orders, I repeat, if any of you were certain that our Luna was in danger, you are to attack without waiting for my orders” I ordered all our warriors who all had sad and tormented looks on their faces for they all knew that by the end of this night we might easily lose either our Alpha, or Luna or both…
But what happened next will probably haunt me as a person and the pack as a whole for the rest of our lives…
