Y/n's POV

     Steven was dragging me to meet his new friend that he made met a bit ago. He says that I have to meet her since he feels as though we would get along well. To put in some background knowledge, Steven and I are basically siblings. My parents gave me to Greg when I was a baby because they knew they couldn't take care of me. Steven and I grew up together and we loved each other's company. I lived with him and the gems since Greg didn't really have a house we could live in. The gems were very nice to me but since I'm fully human, they are very protective when it comes to me. It gets very annoying at times but I get why they are.

     "Connie!" Steven yelled as we reached the side of the beach. There was this pretty girl sitting in the sand to which I was assuming was Connie.

     "Hey Steven, what took you so- woah." She started but cut herself off when she looked at me. We locked eyes before I looked away. "Is that your unbiological sister that you were telling me about?"

     "Yup, I brought her here so that you guys can finally become friends. You both are bi so maybe you could even become more than friends." Steven stated as he raised an eyebrow and slightly pushed me forward so that I was closer to her. Both of our faces grew slightly red.

     "Thanks for calling us out like that." I said slightly laughing. Steven and I sat down next to Connie and started a small conversation.

     "So, how did you meet Steven?" Connie asked as she directed her attention to me.

     "Well, Greg said that my parents couldn't afford to take care of me so he did for them. Ever since then, Steven and I have just said that we are siblings so it's easier to explain. At this point, Steven basically is my brother." I answered with a smile.

     "If you don't mind me asking, do you know your biological parents?" She asked with a curious look in her eyes.

     "Nope. Greg said that they left beach city a year after they gave me to him and they lost contact. I guess that's kinda upsetting but I never really met them so there isn't much I can be upset about." I explained.

     "What about the gems? What's it like living with them?" Connie asked me. Steven let out a small laugh, he already knew what I was gonna say.

     "It's fun I guess you could say. They are extremely protective over me since I'm fully human. I half blame Steven for that. He told them about all the different ways a human could get hurt and all the different sicknesses they could get. Now they barley let me out of their sight and I can only go on a very few amount of missions with them. They really are fun but it's just they are very protective." I answered while slightly laughing.

     "I had to tell them. They would freak out if you got hurt and they didn't know what to do." Steven said laughing.

     "THEY FREAK OUT ANYWAYS." I said slightly yelling. This caused all of us to laugh. "Connie, what are your parents like?"

     "They are kinda really strict but I know they mean well. My mom is a nurse and my dad is an undercover cop. They don't seem very nice when you first meet them but once you get to know them you will find out that they are very fun and funny people, my dad at least." Connie answered.

     "That's cool. If you don't mind me asking, how did you find out that you were bi?" I asked.

     "I don't know really how to explain it but one day I just looked at a girl and said she's cute, I could date her and then I looked at a guy and said he's cute, I could date him." She answered and we all laughed. "What about you?"

     "Have you heard of the app Tiktok? Yeah, that thing proved that I was not straight." I answered and we all started to laugh even more.

     "Yo Steven! Come on! We are going on a mission!" The three of us heard Amethyst yell.

     "Coming! You guys stay here and get to know each other more." He said running off but stopped midway and turned back to us. "No French kissing, you guys aren't french." He went back to running as he said that. My cheeks grew red and I had a feeling Connie's did too. I turned back to her and we started to talk about some books that we have read. As I looked at her more, I realized that her glasses didn't have any lenses.

     "Hey Connie? How come you have no lenses on your glasses?" I asked as I moved slightly closer to her so I could get a better look.

     "Oh, I took them out because Steven healed my eyes. I still wear them because my parents would freak out since they don't understand the gems and their powers." She said as she took off her glasses.

     "Can I try them out?" I asked.

      "Yeah sure." She answered as she handed me her glasses. I put them on then smiled as her. "Woah." Her cheeks grew slightly red.

     "How do I look?" I asked her with a laugh as I posed. She smiled at me and scooted a bit closer.

     "You look beautiful. I think they fit you better than they fit me." She answered laughing a bit. I shook my head at her.

      "That's a lie and you know it. You look amazing with and without glasses. I bet you could pull anything off." I told her as I handed her glasses back to her. She took them and sat them beside her in the sand.

     "Does that mean I could pull off being your girlfriend?" She asked with a smirk. Her question caught me off guard and my cheeks grew red.

     "I mean yeah, but we need to go on a few dates first. This isn't a Disney princess movie where we marry the person we just met." I said laughing and it caused her to laugh too. She grabbed her glasses and books then stood up. She held her hand out to me.

     "Then lets start today. I'll take you on a date right now." She said with a smile.

     "Alright bet." I said as I grabbed her hand and got up. Neither of us let go as we continued to walk.

     "Let's keep it simple, I'm taking you to Funland." She said as we continued to walk.

     "Funland is everything but simple."
