Luna blinked.

"Y-you're not?"

Smiling he shook his head.

"I am flattered you think so, but no."

So now what? Now she had to search for a vampire all over again? She had a list of bars and other places where vampires were often found, but would she have the courage to go to a place with tons of vampires? Probably not.

Suddenly Luna realized something important about what Leo just told her. This guy wasn't a vampire. Had she just told him something she had sworn not to tell any other human, unless it was crucial that said human knew about all paranormal creatures?

If she had she was going to be in big trouble. But maybe he already knew, maybe he too was one of the few humans who knew all about the paranormal world. Or maybe he was a paranormal creature himself.

If so, he couldn't be a werewolf, since he just said he was flattered she thought he was a vampire. Given the current conflict between the two species, the chance that a werewolf would say something like that was basically non existent.

Interrupting her from her thoughts the non-vampire spoke.

"I am not a vampire, but I can take you to one if you want?"

"Y-you can?" Luna couldn't stop herself from stuttering. He could? That would save so much time! And there would be someone else around. She wouldn't have to be alone with a vampire!

"Oui, I can. The conflict is indeed causing some trouble. I don't know much about it since James doesn't really get involved, but he told me he was almost attacked a few times. He tries to stay out of this kind of merde, but the pack got a little out of hand and attacked him anyway. Luckily they haven't started attacking him during the day, I can't imagine it being good for his cafe. I am getting a bit carried away, am I? The question was if you want me to take you to a vampire?"

Luna didn't have to think about that question for long. She had a mission and she would finish it! She wouldn't let a bunch of supernaturals scare her! Well, maybe they would scare her, but her fear wouldn't stop her from finishing her mission!

"Yes, please take me to your vampire friend. If it is fine by you of course, I don't want to be of any inconvenience."

The guy of unidentified species smiled. "Don't worry, I'll take you to James. Although if you really think it would be an inconvenience I can just give you his address?"

"No!" before Luna even thought it the word was out of her mouth. No, no, no. He needed to come with her! She didn't dare face a vampire on her own. It would take way too long to collect all her courage again.

Leo had to hold back a smile. Well, that 'no' came out fast. She was probably was afraid of vampires. She hadn't realized James was a vampire then, because when she first met James she wasn't scared at all. Not surprising, James was likable and charming, if a little stiff. Not exactly intimidating.

"Well that's a deal then, milady. I will take you to my vampire friend, as you like to call him," Leo looked at his watch. "We can go now if you want? It's about four o'clock, so the troublemakers of the werewolf pack won't be causing any havoc yet."

Luna nodded, "Yes, thank you."

Leo stood up. He was about to start walking to his jacket, when he spotted something out of the corner of his eye. It was brownish and hopped on his sofa. Then it made some kind of growling sound and leaped. The smile Leo had kept on his face so far quickly vanished. Instead of walking to his jacket, he ran to Luna.
