Chapter nine | Chemicals

"I found him," Eleven told them with the blindfold over her eyes. The group sat in front of the girl as she searched for Hopper.

"where is he?"

"woods, with Will's and Valerie's moms," Valerie gave a confused look wondering what he mother was doing with Hopper and Joyce. She looked over at Will who held the same expression

"our moms?" they both questioned not understanding what was going on

"what are they doing?" Max asked the girl who stuttered out an answer

"Ill...annoy? They're going to Ill-annoy," the party stared strongly at the girl not knowing what she was trying to say. Karen Wheeler then called for Mike to get breakfast to which he yelled not now causing Valerie to smack his arm and tell him not to yell at his mother

"Illinois? Illinois, like the state of Illinois?"

"Ill-annoy?"

"Somethings not right I can't get Hopper off my back all summer, and now all of a sudden he's hiking with Will and Valerie's mom to Illinois? And Dustin and Hope are MIA to. I mean this can't be a coincidence!" Valerie rolled her eyes annoyed with Mike's rant though she did agree that it all couldn't be just a coincidence

"What does it matter the bottom line is they're not here, it's up to us!" Lucas told him but Mike still continued on

"up to us to do what exactly?"

"find Billy and stop him,"

"okay yeah that's a really nice sentiment but even if El could find him again and that's a pretty big if then what?"

"we burn the shit out of him and make sure he doesn't escape this time."

"okay then what?"

"then we win,"

"no see that's the problem we don't. We don't win. we got the mind flayer out of Will before and he just came right back we don't just have to stop Billy we have to stop the Mind flayer!"

"he is right you know we have to stop them both if we really want to win otherwise he'll always come back," Valerie added in once Mike finished yelling.

"how in the hell do we do that?"

"don't ask me."

"maybe El does," the four of them looked towards the bathroom door where El and Max currently were in

"what are they still doing in there?" Mike wondered out loud

"I don't know girls just like hanging out in bathrooms," Lucas told him trying to hand him the box of cocoa puffs but he pushed them away so Valerie gladly snatched them from his hands smiling as he rolled his eyes.

"why?"

"I don't know,"

"they're conspiring against me," Valerie rolled her eyes once again "and so are you!" Mike said pointing a finger in her face to which she just glared and threw a hand full of cocoa puffs in his face.
