In a prison located at the basement of mer kingdoms palace a human can be seen tied up to the wall.

Well just tied up there were no wounds or scratches on him.

" Why did you try to run away from palace at middle of night?"

Rai asked human a question while others just stared at the human.
The human just lazily lifted his head.

Gotta say he was handsome. But according to memories of the original owner he was not the lover.

"There was no reason."

" Than why did you try to hide from me."

Amaris asked with a little frown adorned on her face.

" What makes you think I was hiding from you?"

"Your attitude."

The guy just kept quiet.

" You did not answer the question as to why did you try to run away?"

" It is none of your business."

"Well sorry to break it to you but it is our business."

Donah side with an evil smirk on her face.

" By any chance do you know about the guy named Daniel."

The person flinched at the mention of the name Jorah just uttered.

" So you do know about the guy. "
Thalia chimed in.

"I don't know the guy."

" You know there is no use lying."

Amaris said with the cold look.

" And what would you do if I don't tell."

" We have our ways. Oh and if you think that you would rather die. I know that you wore a poisoned lipstick so I have already removed it from you using magic."

Jorah said with overly sweet and enthusiastic voice.

' Valak who gave you coffee at this time.'

[ Who said I took coffee. I ate puddings.]

At the same time they were having a not so important conversation in there head everyone was looking at Jorah with horror.

How could she clean the poison or even identify it during this short time!??

Azariah coughed and said
" Speak "

The guy remained quiet. Rai was at the end of his patience and was about to hit the guy but Amaris stopped him.

" No need for violence. I was trying to avoid using this but it seems we have no choice."

She took out a bottle containing green stick liquid.

" What is that?"

" Truth serum."

Everyone just gulped down there saliva and moved 10 inches away from her.

Guess social distancing is good sometimes.

The reason for that is simple the serum is effective and it does taste good but the problem is after the effect weakens so does persons mental health.

They would go into coma for 10 days and have endless nightmares during that time. After that most of them just live like dead people. They get hallucinations.

" No need for using that!?"

The guy screamed in horror. He did have his family to protect.

" I will talk."

" Go ahead."

" I am Daniels brother."

Everyone paused and looked at him.

" And what happened to him?"

" Nothing."

" Why did your family disappear without any traces from the village?"

" The royal family was after us."

" Why?"

" Because the found out that he was involved with the siren queen"

" Where is he now?"

" At the capital with the royal family."

" Why is he there?"

" They want his help in making connections with the siren queen"

" Oh is that so?"

" You will be staying here till the things are solved."

Rai said smiling brightly. But that sent shivers running down the human spine.

Coming out of the basement Donah told the guards not to let him escape.
As they were going upstairs Amaris said,

" You guys should be on guard."

" Why?"

Thalia asked.

" I don't think humans are up to any good."

" Yeah I feel the same thing."
Donah said.

" He lied did he not." Rai asked

" Yes he did. Because if the royalty wanted to contact me the princess could have done that at the academy. No only that the rumour that I had a human lover had been going around for almost 2 years why did they contacted him than only also if he was known as my lover why did they spread that the guy died."

Everyone just nodded along.
