The smooth glassy spheres of hers,
In which daylight used to reside,
Have ruptured and cracked,
Leaking the azure colors of the sky
Unto these pale hands of mine—
Emptying out her watery eyes,
For night to come and abide.

The screams tear through her body
Like a million shards of glass;
Her lungs are filled with misery
And her heart brimming with despair.
I place her face into my hands
And a starless night looks back at mine.
Her pink lips quiver desperately;
And her sobs pierce my ears—
For the nightsky now
Has started to leak.

Words dare not slip off my tongue,
For she already knows of all that lies
Beneath this misama of wordless noise.
Thus, I merely sit beside her
And listen to her soul's eternal plea.
Grief hovers in her chaotic mumbles,
And agony lingers in her tears—
For the nightsky has not yet ceased to leak.

She looks at me in sheer despair
As fervid sorrow burns through her,
And my heart wishes and pleads
For the nightsky to no longer leak
These star-deprived tears of hers
That taint her heart in hues of night,
And flood this depleted soul of mine.

Alas, these hopless wishes of mine
Have gone to vain—
For the nightsky has come to dwell
Behind the glassy sheen of her eyes,
Leaking into her heart
And unto these hands of mine
Star-deprived tears of you and I.
