You could practically feel the sadness in the hallway. Imogen was sat on the ground, her back against the wall, staring blankly at the white and navy tiles, her throat growing sore from holding back her tears.

She has been there since Hopper and Joyce left to go find Issa and Will. She had begged to Hopper, wanting to go with them to find Issa, since she was anxious about Eleven's earlier words.

Can't find her.

Just thinking of those three little words made Imogen paranoid on end, she wanted to help find Issa. Instead, she was stuck here in a middle school hallway, sitting on the floor feeling useless because for all she knew the love of her life was in trouble.

"I can't believe it."

In the corner of her eye, Imogen watched Nancy walk up to her and slid down on the floor with a heartbroken but determined expression on her face.

"Barb's just...gone." Nancy scoffed while shaking her head, wiping the tear that fell down her cheek harshly away with the sleeve of her sweater.

"Yeah..." Imogen sighed, fiddling with the hoodie sleeves uncomfortably as her voice cracks.

The silence was, again, tense, but it was more comfortable as the two basked in it sharing the heavy heart feeling still in disbelief about Eleven's words.

"I just...I wish... none of this ever happened." Imogen swallowed, leaning her head on the wall, blinking back the tears in her eyes. "All of this just makes me feel like I'm going crazy."

Nancy peered over at the girl with a sad smile, "Same...We'll go crazy together, right?"

Imogen huffed out a laugh, grabbing Nancy's hand, "... crazy together."

Imogen scooted closer to the girl, putting her head on Nancy's shoulder, whimpering. "Why do you think El couldn't find her?"

Nancy leaned her head on the girls before tensing, the action going unnoticed by the silently crying girl, the Wheeler girl stuttered. "I-i don't...know."

Imogen inhaled deeply, going to speak when Jonathan walked out the gym, looking around the hall before his eyes landed on the girls making him sigh and sit on the other side of Imogen.

"We need to go back to the station," Nancy said, making Jonathan look at her as if she's crazy as Imogen just scoffed.

"What?"
