Chapter 8

I arrived at the coffee shop near the mansion at exactly 9:45. I entered the shop and ordered a cup of coffee before looking for a quiet corner to sit.

Nang makakita ng isang four-seater table sa bandang sulok ng coffee shop ay doon ako tumungo. Umupo ako kung saan makikita ko agad ang mga taong papasok sa entrance door. As I sit comfortably, I scanned the whole place.

Wala gaanong customer sa shop sa oras na iyon. Kung meron man, mangilan ngilan lang.

I took a sip of my hot coffee as I wait for them to arrive.

I savor the bitter taste of the coffee as my mind starts to wander back to Levi and his smart mouth. He always has the right thing to say to slap me with the truth. And I hate the way I feel like I need to prove how wrong he thinks I am.

I know that people branded me like a monster like what he said. Aside from fear, they also hate me the most. What's worse is that they even barely know me. They even don't know me at all. And I never really care about how cruel or bad I appear to them. That's why it irks me that Levi's opinion about me starts to matter.

Pumikit ako nang mariin saka ipinilig ang ulo.

This is ridiculous. I'm really out of my mind.

Ano nga bang pakialam ko sa iniisip ni Levi tungkol sa akin? Who is he to even mess with my mind like this?

Bigla akong bumalikwas ng tayo. It's wrong to even meet Amanda and make amends with her because of what I did when in reality, I enjoyed it. Who do I want to impress anyway?

Dinampot ko ang purse ko saka humakbang na para umalis nang tumunog ang chime sa pinto at mayroong pumasok.

Unang nakita ko ay si Zara. Lumibot ang mga mata nito nang magtama ang tingin namin. Pagkakita sa akin ay saka siya bumaling sa likod niya. Nakasunod dito si Amanda na walang bakas ng emosyon ang mukha na nakatingin din sa akin.

I remained standing there not knowing what to do when another figure came out of the way. Levi came with them, still wearing his school uniform.

Our eyes met and he nodded in acknowledgment when he saw me.

Bumuntong hininga ako at bumalik sa upuan ko. As I sit, they are already heading towards me.

I don't even know why is he here. But maybe because Zara is hesitating to let this idea push through, she just brought Levi with them to make sure.

Wala na akong nagawa lalo na nang nasa harap ko na sila.

Levi pulled a seat in front of me for Amanda to sit. Ganoon din ang ginawa niya para sa kapatid nito na umupo sa tabi ni Amanda. The only seat available is right beside me. Akala ko ay doon siya uupo nang magsalita ito.

"You can talk here. I'm just going to be there if you need something.", pagkausap ni Levi kay Amanda at Zara habang tinuturo ang isang mesa na medyo malayo sa amin.

Bago umalis ay tinapunan ako ni Levi ng tingin. I can't clearly point out what kind of expression he was giving so I just rolled my eyes at him.

Narinig ko siyang mahinang bumuntong hininga bago kami talikuran at naglakad na papunta sa isang table.

A waiter instantly went near us to get our order. Tubig lang ang inorder ni Amanda. Halata na walang balak patagalin ang usapan namin. While Zara ordered for a frap.

Nang umalis ang waiter ay kaming tatlo na lang ang naiwan doon. Sumulyap ako sa pwesto ni Levi na kasalukuyan ding umaoorder ng kape nito saka ko sinulyapan si Amanda.
