When HBr is added to propene we get two products : 1-bromopropane and
2-bromopropane
CH3-CH=CH2 + HBr ————>
CH3-CH(Br)-CH3 + CH3-CH2-CH2-Br
Markovnikov's rule: when an asymmetrical reagent is added to an asymmetrical alkene, negative part of the addendum gets attached to the carbon containing lesser number of hydrogen atoms.
