A/N - This chapter is based on the song 'Chapel of Love' by the Dixie Cups. I thought you all deserved a little bit of happy Bucky for the first time in a little while. It's a little bit short, but I hope you all enjoy it.

Toast. Perfectly brown. Check. Bacon. Crispy and sizzling. Check. Eggs. Runny yolks but crunchy edges. Check. Coffee. Black and sugar free. Check. Breakfast was really starting to come together. It was rare that you could wake up early enough to beat Bucky out of bed, but you'd managed it for the first time in what felt like forever.

He'd still been snoring pretty peacefully when you'd snuck out of his grip, padding out of the bedroom and pulling the door closed as quietly as you could manage. It would all be more than worth the sneaking about to see the look of surprise on his face when you returned with his breakfast in bed.

You had your headphones in your ears as you cooked, unwilling to wake Bucky with your music before you got a chance to finish making his breakfast. You'd just hit shuffle on some random playlist and gotten to work, practically ignoring the sound that was being fired into your ears. But then a song had come on, one that you hadn't heard in years, and you'd begun listening a little closer. The Chapel of Love had always been a song you adored. It was pretty and simple and catchy, and you couldn't help but hum along with the tune.

You were already putting the food onto plates when you had unconsciously began singing along, the lyrics falling from your lips effortlessly. "Going' to the chapel and we're gonna get married." Swaying your hips, you positioned the plate on the tray, smiling to yourself as you made it looked as presentable as possible. "Gee, I really love you and we're gonna get married."

"Going to the Chapel of Love, yeah," you continued to sing, picking up the tray and turning to leave the kitchen. As you span, you caught sight of Bucky standing behind you, leaning against the doorframe, a smirk on his lips as he watched you carefully. The tray slipped from your hands, clattering to the floor, covering the tiles with food and plate shards.

"Buck," you cried out, yanking the headphones out of your ears. "What the hell?"

His eyes widened slightly as he ran his eyes over the mess you had made. "If it's any consolation, it looks like it would've tasted great," he hummed, skirting around the edge of the mess to pull you into a tight hug. He pressed his lips to the top of your head, hearing you release a deep sigh.

"You ruined the surprise," you grumbled, feeling his chest shake as he laughed at your comment. "S'not funny," you added, jabbing him in the side with one of your fingers.

Bucky stilled, leaning down to press his lips to yours. "Was a lovely surprise," he murmured, causing you to smile as he nudged at you with his nose. "Sorry for spoiling it."

You pulled away from his grip, poking your tongue out at him before glaring down at the mess on the floor. "This'll take ages to clean," you uttered, glancing back at him for a moment before moving over to the cupboard to grab the dustpan and brush.

The two of you worked in silence for a while, cleaning up the shards of plate and wiping away the egg yolk smeared across the tiles. "Do you ever think about it?" Bucky started, sitting back on his knees to look at you.

You glanced up, pushing your hair back out of your face. "Think about what?"

"About us getting married?"

For a moment, you considered lying. Bucky had always had a little bit of a fear of commitment, or so his friends had told you, though you never have known it from the way your relationship had started. "Sometimes, I guess," you hummed, turning your gaze back to your work.

"I liked that song," he started again, reaching out to place his hand over the top of yours and stopping you from moving. "I liked the lyrics." For a moment, you were confused, your brow furrowing as you attempted to connect the dots he had begun laying out for you.

"Oh," you uttered as the realisation hit you, a smile pulling at your lips. "Yeah, they're pretty."

Bucky nodded, his lips turning up into a half smile. "I want to marry you," he told you, with a certainty in his voice that you weren't sure you had ever heard before. "I want you to be my wife."

"Is this you proposing?" you started, watching him carefully as he shuffled forward slightly, getting the knees of his pyjama bottoms damp with egg yolk.

"Is this you accepting my proposal?"

You shrugged slightly. "I think that depends on whether you ask the question right," you murmured as he pressed his lips to yours.

"Y/N Y/L/N, will you marry me?" A smile pulled at your lips as you pressed your forehead to his, nodding. "Come on," he uttered, causing you to chuckle slightly. "If I have to ask properly, you have to answer properly."

You bit your lip to hold back your laughter. "Yes, I'll marry you."
