Y/N: POV

For the last few days, nothing out of the ordinary had happened. It was so dreary that I let myself stop by at the Saiki residence uninvited. If by chance Kusuo brings his anger to a boil, I packed a few drinks and coffee jelly to calm him.

The first I met his parents, they were a bit shocked that a classmate—specifically a girl would visit their son. I didn't mention what I try was to them, given all the horrifying doctors that Saiki had previously told me. It wasn't much of a conversation between three of us, the two couple spent a couple of minutes discussing to themselves about this matter at hand. Between their talks, I made an effort of asking where he was currently, which they gleefully answered. I awkwardly gave them an acceptable smile, as they continue to chit-chat like little children.

'Quite a handful, those two.'

.~* Presently *~.

I sat on Saiki's bed, munching on my portion of my snack piles, as I spectated Saiki boring his eyes on a sheet of paper. His eyebrows furrowed which was a sight to see.

"Saiki, what's that?"

I managed to spit out, as my mouth gulped down the sweets.

"Someone wrote me a letter claiming they know I'm psychic."

His words were enough for me to choke on my own food, yet succeeded not to.

'Back to the matter at hand, how was that ever possible? Not including his parents, aren't I the only person supposed to know?'

"Have you found out who it is?"

Saiki had no care of looking back at me, quietly staring at the paper as if it was a foreign object.

"That's what I'm about to—"

We both looked at the door the moment a melodic sound could be heard from downstairs. When the male silently sat up from his comfortable chair, an unknown person suddenly appeared on the other side of the doorway.

My first impression of this person was blank. I couldn't decide wether to politely introduce myself or stiffly hope that he didn't notice me. Others I wasn't close to were the last I wanted to converse with, given that I was antisocial.

(If the readers who read this aren't antisocial, bear with me and pretend you are ' ^ ')

This stranger was not surprisingly a male, and the same age as us based by his appearance. He had beautiful violet medium-length hair with a bandana that covered his forehead, and also clothing meant for monks.

I chewed on my food carefully this time, putting some pieces together.

'If this stranger just happened to visit here with that attire, I suppose he was also the one that delivered the letter to Saiki.'

As the strange looking monk looked over Saiki's shoulders, he spotted me. My eyes widened by instinct, as my head turned away in a stiff motion. He turned back at the glasses wearing psychic, then back to me. His bright and friendly grin all of a sudden formed into a mischievous smirk.

"Whoah, master! I didn't know that you were in the middle of something~"

It took me a second to put together This  what he meant before I found my face beating red, even Saiki had the same expression.

"IT'S NOT LIKE THAT!"

After receiving a hard slap on his cheek and bonk on the head, the monk introduced himself as Toritsuka Reita, who was in fact a spirit medium.

'This is too soon. Why bother sending a letter?'

He flapped his mouth nonstop, constantly talking about how he arrived here and his past misfortunes. I turn to Saiki who appeared listening in with his history, yet making comments between his words. I couldn't help but let a giggle escape from my lips, as little liquid trickled down my cheeks. They both turned my way, having an understandable expression on their faces; confusion and horror.

"I forgot to introduce myself to you, miss,uh..."

His introduction paused, letting me take my time to catch my breath and answer.

"It's Y/N L/N! Nice to meet you!"

We both traded each other a pleasurable greeting, exchanging a handshake as a closure.

If only Saiki has the same taste in the situation, he could only hope that they wouldn't have school others habits.

'Good grief. If I accept Toritsuka's apprenticeship, I won't ever have time with myself anymore. He'll be twice the trouble that Y/N is.'

I couldn't help but feel hurt by those words he spoke. It was as if arrows were struck multiple directions, yet the same target.

"You know, Toritsuka, I'm also a psychic. Why don't you become my apprentice instead? Saiki doesn't seem interested."

"Please don't encourage him. Not to mention to not tell false truths. You can't even control your own powers yet."

I peered him a demonic glare, receiving a new type of expression; a displeased Saiki.

"Is that really what you think, Master?"

The medium turned to Saiki with a face that resembled a low spirited puppy. Saiki couldn't help but felt pity toward the spirit medium, and a challenge toward Y/N.

"Fine. You can be my apprentice alongside Y/N."

I blushed at the mention of her name, disappointed to only be called an apprentice. I looked toward Toritsuka, bumping his fists up in the air.

'I guess it was worth it, now that I have a partner.'

3rd Person: POV

Saiki rolled his eyes to the side, viewing the two idiots who acquired excellent news. Normally, this wouldn't bother him that much, knowing that he rarely express his emotion externally. Yet for some reason, he couldn't help but replay the moment Y/N and Toritsuka exchanging a greeting. For once in a very long time, he felt hurt.
