The doctor flinched, stomach dropping. Shit.

He had been so caught up with her, he completely forgot that she wasn't staying here permanently.

He didn't want it to happen.

He didn't want to let go.

He didn't want to let her go.

It's almost  twelve in afternoon, or noon as some call it.

Instead of doing work, however, the only thing on the doctor's mind was when.

When?

When she would be leaving?

The doctor hoped for next month. Maybe two months? A year?

All was he asking for, more time.

And he couldn't not think about it, since eventually, he'd get a copy of her release details.

He wondered when, however? Thankfully, not today.

Man,he was impatiently stumped.

Eepop was sitting in a leather chair adjacent to Olive's bed on the opposite wall, behind the doctor.

It was just as quiet as it was before, with the exception of the TV, playing children's shows. Both the Doctor and Eepop marvelled at how Olive could be entertained at such a thing for so long. The way her legs were folded, Olive smiling at the television every time it made a cheesy joke or answered a question. The doctor looked over at her, it was like her happiness radiated on him. Like something that told him everything would be alright. It almost made his tiny heart grow.

Yes, almost. Don't push it.

Olive noticed and smiled back.

He turned away from her.

Olive wondered what was making him change so much, back and forth. He was so cold and stubborn, yet helpful and dare she think...caring? She used to question him so much, not knowing a thing from him. And just when she finally thought things would get better for the both of them, he goes and turns away, like something's keeping him from showing too much.

Was it something that happened before?

She wanted a way to open him up permanently. She wanted to know what was dragging him down into the dark pit of maddening silence and deathly glares.

But how?

She thought the letter would change everything, not part of it. And that's when it rang back to mind.

The letter.

When the doctor came back to work, he had never mentioned anything about it. Not the slightest reply.

Realizing this, Olive reached over and tugged his shirt.

He didn't look up at her, answering.

"What?"

She pouted. Did he even get it?

'Did you get my letter?'

He raised an eyebrow.

"What letter?"

Eepop kept her ears open, still looking down at her phone. Now that she focused, she did remember Marifa saying something about a letter.
