12. WHAT ABOUT US? 12.

Chapter 12 : WHAT ABOUT US?
RECAP
I am a defective, Zim have no purpose when every Irken have one, Zim got banned from Zim's own home in Irk, no one wants me anymore, I am a stain in their eyes, they want to get rid of me, and Zim is lost. Zim don't know what to do, and what next. Zim almost self destruct the day after the incident. But because of you Dab, Zim still want to be alive. Because you're Zim's purpose. And nothing can change that.

- 3RD PERSON POV -
After remembering those memories, Zim suddenly smiled and pat the human beside him and whispered a few words. " I know. Seeing how much Dab changed must make you feel sad. And Zim also don't know will he stay here? or leave this planet once he is old enough to conquer his own planet? " Dib frowned a bit and wipe his own tears. He just know Dab for a while and Dab already grown so much. What if he grow to fast? And leave this planet? Not that he is not proud of Dab. Of course he is proud of Dab. But they aren't that close yet. And he want to be a great parent to Dab. And Dib missed out a lot of important memories in Dab life. He can't just let that happen. He must stay strong, is all Dib can think of before looking at the other pictures of Dab. The picture is lovely to Dib.

Dab crying, Dab laughing, Dab throwing Zim stuff and Zim panicked on the background, Zim and Dab sleeping together on the couch, Zim teaching Dab how to talk, Dab scribbling the wall with crayons, Dab and Gir laughing, Dab trying to walk, and more.

This pictures can make Dib smile brightly. Thinking of how lively this house become after Dab appeared in their life. But how long will it last?

Dib frowned again, Gaz and his Dad didn't know about Dab yet. And Dib can't just force Zim and Dab keep wearing their disguise 24/7 what if they get caught by his Dad? He isn't worried about Gaz. The problem is his Dad.

Even though that his Dad didn't believe that Zim is an alien. What if he realized that Zim is one. And Dab is half human half alien? Will he accept the two of them?

All Dib wanted right now is spending time with Zim and Dab and still able to meet with Gaz and his Dad.

And keep hiding Zim and Dab from his own family felt wrong.

They deserve to know. But what will they do when they know? Dib unconsciously gripped the book making Zim panic that Dib will ruin the album. Dib startled when Zim shouted and stop gripping the book. And mumbled sorry out of guilt and carefully give it back to Zim. Zim can only sigh and smiled and tell Dib that it's alright.

" Hey Zim. Do you want Gaz and my Dad know about Dab? " Dib asked after all he need Zim permission too. It's not like he is the one who raised Dab. His question also shock Zim. Zim eyes turned wide and his antennas lowered down when his eyes look down at his boots. " To be honest, Zim never thought of that before. Because, in the past. All Zim want is to protect Dab and avoid Dib-stink at all cost. " Zim said and stared at the human beside him.

The living room felt cold and there's only silent between them for a few seconds. Dib also don't know what to say or what to do to fix the tense situation. Before he could say anything. Zim sighed and look down at his boots. " Zim don't mind. As long as Dib-stink can control Dib's family. " " Oh, okay Zim. I will try my best to make sure my family accept you. And if they don't . Can't we just search another planet to stay at? And be space travelers with Dab. Won't it be fun? " Dib said half joking and half serious. While staring at Zim who tiredly smirked.

" it's not as simple as you think Dib-stink. Most planet is conquered and belongs to the Irkens. And they won't be please to see Zim nor my family suddenly come by like an intruder. And stay there without doing any job from the tallest. And not to mention that I am banned to be near any of their planets. " Zim explained in a very tired tone as if he already thought about that plan before . Dib frowned and said " why not search another planet that isn't conquered by Irkens? "

' Is Irkens really that bad ? ' Dib thought in his mind. Zim sighed again. It's a habit of Zim, ever since he was banned from Irk. " The other planets is either have bad conditions for the Irkens to inhibit, our neighbors planet, or our enemy's planet. Trust me not much people like to see Irken arrive at their planet. In fear of they will be wipe out of existence and their planet become the Irken property . Only a few couple of primitive planet, that don't have high technology to communicate with the other planets that is friendly to Irken and unaware of the danger that an Irken can cause. Such as Urth. " Zim said.

" Then why don't we stay at a primitive planet? " Dib asked making the alien beside him stared at him as if he is an idiot. " A primitive planet is sooner or later will be either destroyed by other colony, or will be conquered by another colony. And Zim don't want to risk Dab life span for a stupid idea. " Zim said. Knowing that Dib is smart enough to know that they can't just stay floating in space in a ship forever. Unless you have unlimited supplies for the ship to run properly and escape from the enemy . After all this planet is their only option to survive. " I will explain our situation to my Dad. And what ever happens I will be there for the both of you. " Dib said making Zim chuckle. " Okay Dib-stink "

They both talk for a while before they went to sleep of course Zim offered Dib to sleep at the hibernation tube which make Dib shivered of how wrong it look like and how could Zim feel normal to be sleeping in there. Because it's more like a test tube rather than a hibernation tube. So Dib end up sleep on the couch because he don't want to bother Dab and Dab's bed is to small.

The next morning the little Irken wake up with a lot of energy and rush to every room to search for his human Dad. He rush to the living room to see Dib. Dab immediately pat Dib face. " Dad!! Dad!! Dad!! " Dib groaned when he feel a small hand keep hitting his face not too hard not too soft. He then sit up and wipe his eyes before wearing his glasses . " Yes. Dab? " " My rocket ship is almost done!! After it done, let's go to the moon " Dab said in a joyful tone.

" Uhh... Did Zim help you built it? " " nope " " Did Zim analyze the ship yet? " " nope " " Did Zim.... year the ship yet? " " nope " the little Irken innocently said with a big sparkly eyes hoping that his human Dad agree to go to the moon with him and his mom.

" Then you absolutely can not go to the moon with that ship " Dib said shattering Dab's hope. Making him sad. " But, Daaad!! " " Young man, no is a no. After all Zim haven't analyzed it nor tested it yet. And we both don't know if there's malfunction or not " Dib explained and pat Dab head.

The little Irken glared at Dib and slap his hand. " Malfunction?! That's impossible!! I, Dabourus the Great can't make a mistake. I am the tallest future rival!! " Dab shouted angrily. " you have Zim's temperament, huh? " Dib mumbled. Making the little Irken glare at him more.

" how about this. I will check on your ship. If it's qualified to be flight. Then we all can go to the moon but if not then we can just give so adjustments to make it better. " Dib said. And Dab agreed. Rather than have no chance to go to the moon at all. Dab want to take the deal instead. The two of them walk to the lab and Dib grab a cable and plug it into the ship moderator to Zim computer. And immediately type the code and analyze the system code. Making Dab amazed of how fast his human Dad type on the blue screen. " You didn't set emergency signal command. You forgot to put a short cut command to use the spare fuel. The ship supposed to have another machine to make sure the other machine stable and not overheat themselves. Hmm... There's no escape pod.... " Dib continued to say all the mistake. And Dab quickly scribbled in his note of what he forgot to add.

" See Dab. You're not ready to go to the moon yet. And we haven't check the engine yet... " Dib said making the little Irken look at the floor. Disappointed of himself. But immediately cheered up when Dib pat his head and smiled at him. " You will meet your aunt and grandpa soon "

" what is aunt and grandpa? Is that a human food? " Dab asked. Making Dib laugh at his silly son. " No. Aunt is my sister. But because she is older you call her aunt. While Grandpa is my Dad. Because he is my Dad and he is older than your Dad. You call him Grandpa. "  Dib fried his best to explain to his son. Even though his half human, he look like an alien. And probably understand about alien more than about human.

" Oh, okay!! Dab will look at Aunt and Grandpa with big sparkly eyes so they will have no choice but to give Dab honey!! " the little Irken said and laugh evilly like a chipmunk.
