Y/N POV:
I got woken up by Snotlout practically jumping on my bed.
-Wake up Y/N! It's Snoggletog! He shouts and jumps off of my bed and onto the floor.
-God Snotty, you're 20. Grow up, I say as I get out of bed and put on my thickest fur. Snow was falling from the sky and the sun is shining on my face. I walk downstairs where mom and dad are preparing tonight's dinner.
-Hi honey! Just preparing tonight's dinner! Mom says and I smile at the familiar scents. Suddenly the door opens and Eret walks inside.
-It smells delicious in here Britta! What is it that you're cooking? Eret says and walks inside.
-Oh, good morning Eret! Y/N, you invited Eret for dinner, didn't you? Mom asks me.
-Of course I did mom! I say and run up to Eret with a smile. He hugs me and kisses my cheek.
-I hope you invited Hiccup and Astrid, Snotlout, mom scolds him.
-Yeah yeah, I did, they're coming, happy? Snotlout says and dad slaps him across the head, making Snotlouts helmet fall of. I laugh. Snotlout picks up his helmet and walks past me and Eret, grumbling.
-Do you kiss your mother with that mouth? I shout after him as he leaves. Eret chuckles and gives me a kiss.
-C'mon, let's go to Hiccup, Eret reminds me and drags me outside. We greet people that are deeply into the holly-jolly snoggletog spirit. But of course, I couldn't stop thinking about that poor boy, Charlie.
-Y/N, are you feeling alright? Eret asks and stops.
-Hmm? Oh yeah, I'm fine. I'm just worried, I say and we continue walking.
-Concerned for... Charlie? Eret asks.
-Yes! I can't believe his parents left him without decent clothes and proper food, or even a fire! I say angrily as we walk into Gobbers blacksmith.
-Hey, we're here to sort this out, remember? Eret says. I nod, but still feel pretty bummed out.
-Yeah? Eret asks and I nod again. Eret smiles and kisses the top of my hand as we meet Hiccup sitting near a fire, forging... something.
-Hey chief! Eret greets and Hiccup looks up from his project.
-Ah, Hello Eret! Hello Y/N! Happy snoggletog! Hiccup says.
-Happy snoggletog, I say and smile a little.
-We have some urgent business, Eret says, making Hiccup put away whatever he was working with.
-Oh? What kind of urgent? He asks.
-Yesterday, when we were checking that everyone had a fire, a little boy opened the door and he had no fire, no parents and almost no food, I say. Hiccup looks concerned at me.
-What? He asks. I nod.
-And we didn't know what to do, but we put him to bed at his home, and I beg to Odín that he is alright, I say.
-Could you show me? Hiccup asks. Me and Eret nods and walks towards the young boy's house.

We knock on the familiar door and Charlie opens quickly. His face lights up as he sees me and Eret and hug hugs our legs.
-He seems fine to me, Hiccup says. Eret shakes his head and points inside, before petting Charlie's head. I follow his point and there his parents lay on each other on their couch. Hiccup looks absolutely horrified and knocks heavily on the door. The adults on the couch twitch and look around confused.
-Honey.... are we home...? The man says and sits up. The woman groans and turns around, falling back asleep.
-Excuse me? Hiccup asks. The man stands up and wobbles up to the door. Charlie runs behind my legs and hides. How can a man be so ruthless so he turns his own son against him? I glare at the man.
-Yes...? He asks.
-I heard you left your son unsupervised for a long period of time. Is that correct? Hiccup asks.
-Yeah, uh, we've been gone for the week. We've been Uh... honey, where were we? He asks. The woman groans again.
-Some island... she says.
-Yeah, some island somewhere. But we left bread for the little, Uh-boy! To eat, he says hesitantly. Hiccup shakes his head.
-A-a week? Eret asks.
-I think so... the man says.
-A month... I hear Charlie whisper.
-Excuse me? Hiccup asks him.
-They were gone for a month, he says. My face turns red, and before Hiccup can say anything, I react.
-How dare you leave a little boy to starve and freeze to death!? I ask and gets up in the mans face.
-Hey, Whats your problem!? The woman asks and walks up beside the man.
-My problem? I ask angrily.
-My problem is that you left an innocent little child ALONE, in the cold, with no fire, no food and no clothes to keep warm with! I scold, and I feel a hand on my shoulder. I look back at Eret who looks scared at me. I shrug him off.
-So you better have a good explanation mister and missus! I yell. They just looked stunned at me. Eret pulls me back a little and Charlie grabs my hand.
-Go get him something to eat, and I'll handle the rest, Hiccup says.
-C'mon Y/N, Eret says and leads us to the great hall, to get something to eat.

At the table:
-And then Y/N was all like: you better explain yourselves! And they turned quiet! Charlie explains to the rest of the gang, who laughs. Charlie finishes his food and runs around the table to me.
-Y/N really gave them a piece of her mind, Eret laughs as I pick Charlie up and put him on my lap. I sigh.
-What else would I have done? I ask and Charlie plays with my hair. The rest of the gang agrees.
-Lets just hope we get you into a good home, I say and pet Charlie's cheek.
-Can't I just stay with you? He asks. I freeze and look to Eret. He turns red and coughs awkwardly.
-Honey, I'm sorry, you can't, I say. Charlie frowns.
-Why not? He asks. I sigh.
-I'm too young, I say and brush away some hair from his forehead.
-Well, actually- Fishlegs start, before getting hit by Astrid.
-Ok... Charlie says disappointed.
-Can I still see you though? He asks and I giggle and nod.
-Sure you can! I say. Charlie laughs and I smile at Eret.

Eret's POV:
I can't help but to love Y/N even more when she treats Charlie like that. She plays around with him as she leads him to Hiccup, who found another family for Charlie. He hugs Y/N before turning to me and hugging me. Then he waves us goodbye and walks home.
-Come on, lets go help your family with dinner, I say and grab Y/N's hand. She smiles as we walk home.

-You know, you scared my pants off when you started shouting back there, I say. Y/N looks up at me.
-I did? She asks, and I nod.
-Yeah you did, I confirm. Y/N smiles secretly.
-Good to know that I can scare you, she says and I chuckle.
