Abi's P.O.V.

I watched as Clint disappeared out of the door whilst the others all gathered around the bed and bombarded me with questions.

"What's going on with the twins?" Pepper asked quickly.

"They're in the NICU, they need help breathing and they need an IV to give them fluids and nutrients. The doctor said we can go and see them later, but I don't know if he meant just Clint and I or if he meant you guys could come too." I said quietly.

"How long do they have to stay in there for?" Steve asked.

"I don't really know." I said with a frown.

"It's usually for the duration of the pregnancy that you would've had left, so for the twins it would be around 16 weeks probably." Tony said.

Everyone turned and looked at him, confused as to how he knew so much about this.

"What? My cousin was born premature, at 28 weeks and had to stay in hospital for 12 weeks. I don't just research random things." He said with a shrug.

"That's a lie." Bruce said, making everyone laugh.

"Right, whoever gave Clint a black eye own up." I said, looking round at everyone.

Steve sheepishly raised his hand and stepped forwards from the others.

"Uh, I did, I just couldn't help myself." Steve said with a sigh.

"Clint's lucky I didn't get hold of him first, he would've had more than a place eye." Nat growled.

"I love you guys so much, but please don't hurt him anymore." I said quietly.

"You're mad you know; even after everything he's put you through, you still defend him." Nat said, looking dumbfounded and almost disappointed.

"I can't help it, but just because I'm defending him it doesn't mean I'm going to jump back into his arms at the drop of a hat. I love him more than anything but I also need to look out for myself and the twins, they don't deserve to see us arguing so it's going to take a lot of time before I even think about forgiving him. That's if I even can bring myself to forgive him." I said sadly.

"Well whatever you decide do we are all here for you, no matter what." Tony said and the others all nodded in agreement.

"Thanks you guys, for everything." I said with a small smile.

We chatted for a while until the doctor came back at around 7pm, a couple of hours after I had been offered some disgusting looking hospital food but I turned it down, and he ushered the others out before calling Clint back in.

"I can take the two of you down to see your babies now, but you will need to both wash your hands and arms thoroughly before you go in there to reduce the risk of you carrying any germs in there." The doctor explained.

I swung my legs over the edge of the bed, eager to see my babies, and quickly got to my feet but what I wasn't prepared for was when my legs turned to jelly and I almost hit the floor. Luckily, Clint's reactions were quick and he caught me before I hit the floor, I smiled at him in thanks before quickly moving away from him.

"Miss Gilbert, they told me you refused food earlier, I'd highly advise eating something soon before you collapse or something of the sort." The doctor said.

"Here." Clint said, pulling a chocolate bar out of his pocket and handing it to me.

"Trust you to have food on you." I said playfully, making him laugh.
